How Mitt Romney is Plotting His Revenge on Trump

The new leader of the anti-Trump resistance in the Senate, Mitt Romney, will take the oath of office January 3. The former Massachusetts Governor and failed GOP presidential candidate represents what could be called the reemergent Rockefeller wing of the GOP.

You may recall that Romney delivered the most scathing anti-Trump speech by a Republican during the 2016 election cycle, calling Trump a “phony” and a “fraud.” Romney wrote in his wife’s name on Election Day 2016 rather than vote for Trump. He has said that he is not ready to endorse the president for reelection in 2020.

After Trump was elected, Romney was summoned for an interview for a position of some kind in the Trump Administration. Romney even got a follow-up interview with President-elect Trump. “Romney got played,” one journalist noted. It was payback. When nothing materialized, Romney went to Utah to plot his political comeback.

One day after we recorded our new video, “Can Trump Survive Until 2020?,” which looks at the background of Never-Trump Senator Romney, we noticed with interest that an anti-Trump Washington Post journalist by the name of Jennifer Rubin wrote about how Romney is “the ideal person” to fight Trump’s agenda in the Senate. The liberal writer said Romney “has a chance to begin his party’s revival, contain a lawless president, and prevent domestic and international calamities.” She explained, “The Senate has a principle, sanity and gravitas deficit created by the passing of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and enlarged by the retirements of Sens. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., and Jeff Flake, R-Ariz. Romney is the ideal person to fill that void — perhaps the only one who can. But he doesn’t have to operate solo.”

She went on to suggest that Republican Senators Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Cory Gardner of Colorado and Susan Collins of Maine “can be enlisted in an effort” to stall Trump’s agenda.

Of these, Collins is already a power-broker, having cast the deciding vote for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. He promised her that he would be defer to previous Supreme Court decisions on abortion and gay rights, and he delivered with his recent ruling in favor of Planned Parenthood. Gardner made a name for himself by stalling various Trump nominees in exchange for a promise to accept legalization of marijuana on a national basis. Gardner’s marijuana bill is co-sponsored by Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, who just entered the 2020 presidential race.

Republicans such as those listed by Rubin and led by Romney could help make an impeachment conviction of Trump a strong possibility in the new Senate. We should remember that one version of Nixon’s fall from office, as detailed in Gary Allen’s famous book, The Rockefeller Family, was that members of Congress, financial interests, and others associated with the wealthy Rockefeller family maneuvered to force the resignation of President Nixon. After Nixon resigned under threat of impeachment, Vice President Ford was sworn in as President and named Nelson Rockefeller as his vice president. Rockefeller had unsuccessfully sought the Republican presidential nomination in 1960, 1964, and 1968.

Could something like this happen with Trump?

On the most recent edition of our America’s Survival TV show, investigative journalist Steve Baldwin described Romney’s record of fake conservatism and how he could posture as a reasonable Republican. “He portrayed himself during his campaigns as a conservative,” Baldwin said of Romney, “but his record as governor [of Massachusetts] was very, very weak. In fact, he led the country on three of the left’s most cherished issues — cap and trade, gay marriage, and socialized medicine. Some of this legislation served as a model for national versions of those same policies. He really is the leader of the RINOs in America today. With the Senate barely under Republican control, Romney is now in a position to break off a few key senators and cause Trump trouble as Trump pursues an America First agenda.”

In an article headlined, “How Mitt Romney could wind up running the United States 6 years after losing the presidential election,” Elaine Kamarck noted, “Republican Senator Romney will have what no other Republican Senator currently has, a Republican constituency that does not like President Trump. Trump came in third in the Republican primary in Utah in 2016 and in the general election a large number of voters voted for the independent and Mormon conservative Evan McMullin, rather than pull the lever for Trump or Hillary.” McMullin, a former CIA operations officer, received 21 percent of the vote, compared to 45 percent for Trump and 27 percent for Hillary.

Baldwin, former California legislator and executive director of the Council for National Policy, wrote an entire book on Romney that was ultimately rejected by a conservative publishing house that was fearful of offending establishment Republicans. In one of the chapters, “The Buying of a Movement,” he alleged that Romney captured the 2012 GOP presidential nomination not only by falsely advertising himself as a conservative but by funneling donations from his family foundation to influential conservative groups.

Groups like my own America’s Survival, Inc. had published documentary evidence of Barack Hussein Obama’s communist connections back in 2008. Romney didn’t win the GOP nomination in that year. But Arizona Senator John McCain, who did win the nomination, wasn’t interested in bringing any of that to the public’s attention. He lost an easily winnable race against Obama.

In 2012, when Romney won the nomination and ran against Obama, Joel Gilbert released a popular documentary “Dreams from My Real Father,” drawing on our material and going into substantial detail about Obama’s Marxist roots. Gilbert had argued that the right strategy to defeat Obama was to expose his Marxist views, including the role of communist Frank Marshall Davis in molding Obama’s political philosophy. But Romney and top Republicans disagreed. Karl Rove told Republican donors, “If you say he’s a socialist, they’ll go to defend him. If you call him a ‘far out left-winger,’ they’ll say, ‘no, no, he’s not.’” Rove said that Republicans had to “adopt a respectful tone” in criticizing Obama.

By contrast, Gilbert argued, “If Republicans had made Obama’s Marxist agenda and personal background the main issues of the campaign, Americans would have had a much clearer understanding of the choice between American values and Marxism.”

Romney has now followed-up his failed 2012 presidential campaign with a successful run for the Senate from Utah, the base of his church and its wealth. Mike Kennedy, a state lawmaker, ran against Romney and had tried to warn Utah voters during the primary that Romney was a carpetbagger and flip-flopper. Then, during the campaign, independent candidate Tim Aalders argued that Romney was actually a “progressive” who was out-of-step with conservatives.

Sam Bushman, host of the Utah-based Liberty Roundtable radio show, says, “I believe Romney is still young enough that he thinks he has another shot at maybe being president or staying long-term as leader of the Senate. He doesn’t care which as long as he maintains political power.”

At the current time, according to the latest McLaughlin & Associates survey, 72 percent of Republicans favor Trump in the 2020 race and only 9 percent back Romney. That suggests Romney’s approach will be to get accolades from the Washington Post and other liberal media by leading the anti-Trump Republicans in the Senate. After the Democratic-controlled House impeaches Trump, Romney could emerge as the Republican Senator arguing for Trump to resign for the sake of the Republican Party.

At that point, Romney could decide to run for president again. Or perhaps he would settle for the vice presidency under President Mike Pence. It would be a case of Romney’s revenge.

Chuck Baldwin: The Birth Of Christ And The Birth Of America Are Linked

As we are just two days past the day in which we commemorated Christ’s birth, I am reminded of a quote by John Quincy Adams. On July 4, 1837, he spoke these words:

Why is it that, next to the birth day of the Savior of the world, your most joyous and most venerated festival returns on this day? . . . Is it not that, in the chain of human events, the birthday of the nation is indissolubly linked with the birthday of the Savior? That it forms a leading event in the progress of the Gospel dispensation? Is it not that the Declaration of Independence first organized the social compact on the foundation of the Redeemer’s mission upon earth. That it laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity, and gave to the world the first irrevocable pledge of the fulfillment of the prophecies announced directly from Heaven at the birth of the Savior and predicted by the greatest of the Hebrew prophets six hundred years before?

Adams was exactly right. The United States of America is the only nation in human history established by mostly Christian people, founded upon 2,000 years of Christian thought and Biblical Natural Law principles and dedicated to the purpose of religious and personal liberty and equal justice under the law. This truth is easily observed within America’s earliest history.

America’s forebears first established a written covenant with God as early as November 11, 1620, when they penned The Mayflower Compact. It states in part:

In the name of God, Amen. . . . Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith and honour of our king and country, a voyage to plant the first colonie in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God, and one of another, covenant, and combine our selves together into a civil body politick; for our better ordering, and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame such just and equal laws, ordinances, Acts, constitutions and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colonie: unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.

From the beginning, the sentiments and statements of America’s founders make it clear that this country has enjoyed a love and appreciation for the rights and freedoms recognized in Natural Law that is unique in the annals of human history. No other nation has such a heritage.

The Declaration of Independence states, “[Men] are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” It also states that these rights are “self-evident” and that they were formed by the “Laws of Nature.” These principles are also taken directly from the Scriptures—and from Enlightenment fathers such as Locke, Vattel and Montesquieu. And one cannot read what these men wrote without quickly observing that they formed their writings largely on the Scriptures.

The signers of our Declaration of Independence could have never imagined that individual states (including the State of Massachusetts where our war for independence began) would deny their citizens the right to carry arms. They could have never dreamed that states would deny their citizens the right to be free from warrantless searches, which happens every day throughout this country. They could have never imagined that the time would come when their posterity would be denied the basic freedoms to publicly express their reverence for God. Never could they have imagined that the day would come when citizens of the several sovereign states (each with a State constitution protecting religious liberty) would be denied their right to pray in school, place Nativity scenes on public property or hang copies of the Ten Commandments on courthouse walls.

I am also confident that America’s founders would be completely repulsed by the way the United States has jumped headlong into corporatism, socialism and Zionism. At the national level, Democrats and Republicans alike have created a central government so large that it would be unrecognizable to any founding father—even Alexander Hamilton or John Adams. Big Business sucks feverishly at the teat of Big Government; the major media has become little more than a propaganda ministry of Big Government; corporate 501c3 churches view Big Government as a god to be worshipped; and America (including and especially its Christians and churches) seems to be drunk on the perpetual wars and entangling alliances of the neocon Warfare State. Surely, our Founding Fathers must be turning over in their graves.

Therefore, at this Christmas season, let us recommit ourselves to our nation’s founding principles. Furthermore, let us renew with vigor the fight for freedom before our liberties and heritage disappear altogether.

Yes, John Quincy Adams was right. The birth of Christ and the birth of America are indissolubly linked.

Open Letter – There Is No Liberty with Innocents in Prison!

We the people hereby request the immediate assistance and intervention by President Donald J Trump and sheriffs across our republic to join in stopping the injustices befalling numerous Americans­­ who are in prison as a result of egregious federal regulations. These citizens have harmed no one and are victims of a failed judicial system.

Many of these cases are so complicated, we can’t obtain the truth.

Often when they are found guilty, the sentence doesn’t match the crime. Dwight and Steve Hammond were in this very situation, but thankfully they are free due to President Trump and the efforts of many concerned Americans.

Another example of injustice is American homes being raided and ransacked by the Department of Education SWAT Teams over unpaid student loans. This SWAT mentality is unnecessary and out of line. Such arrests and abuses are the result of agency overreach creating criminals. The United States incarcerates more people than any other country in the world. If America is to be great again, as President Trump has pledged, this abuse should not be allowed to continue.

We are requesting an independent committee be established to review these arrests and incarcerations in order to fairly and independently evaluate each case. A summary with recommendations will then be forwarded to the President for consideration.

In the meantime, we implore President Trump to grant case-by-case pardons and return these victims to their families.

We invite all Sheriff’s to help us work to protect due process and the rule of law.

Chuck Baldwin: How To Identify The People Who Truly Do NOT Get It

After many, many years in the “patriot” movement, it is y studied opinion that most of the so-called patriots who claim to “get it” really don’t. Ditto for most of the “patriot” radio talk show hosts, columnists and Internet bloggers. The reality is that there are very few people who seem to truly understand the big picture and who possess the sagacity to discern the real war that is raging around us—which helps to explain, of course, why nothing much ever changes.

What follows are three of the tell-tale signs that people truly do NOT get it.

1. They believe that the Deep State is mostly confined to the Democrat Party and people such as George Soros.

In essence, these folks are totally immersed in the Republican-Democrat, left-right, conservative-liberal false paradigm. Soros has helped finance both Democrats and Republicans (including Donald Trump). And while so-called conservative Republicans use George Soros as a poster child of the enemy, they RUN to Las Vegas to meet with Sheldon Adelson in hopes of procuring his financial and political blessings. And, frankly, between the two, Adelson is a hundred times more dangerous to our liberties than Soros. Yet, “conservatives” love Adelson and despise Soros.

These people truly do NOT get it.

By definition, the Deep State is not conspicuous. It is hidden deeply out of sight where it can work unobserved and unfettered. Furthermore, the Deep State moves comfortably and seamlessly among both the Democrat and Republican parties. The Deep State will use conservatives as effectively as liberals and vice versa. It uses Democrats to attack our 2nd Amendment liberties and Republicans to attack our 4th Amendment liberties. No matter which party is in control of the Congress or the White House, the Deep State agenda presses on almost unimpeded—and, yes, that includes having Donald Trump in the White House.

People such as George Soros are merely headliners to give “patriots” a visible target to shoot at, while the real power brokers infiltrate many of the very organizations that are openly opposing people such as Soros.

Understand this: All of the bitterness and political hate speech going on between liberals and conservatives, between Democrats and Republicans, is nothing but public theater. Some of the rancor and bitterness is indeed genuine, of course, while some of it is as phony as a three dollar bill. But ALL of it only serves to provide cover for the real power brokers who are manipulating the left and the right for their own purposes.

Deep State moguls couldn’t care less about all of the arguing and bickering going on between the two parties, except as it provides them with an effective distraction from the things they really care about, knowing that at the end of the day, both parties will continue to further their agenda.

People who are caught up in the phony left-right paradigm truly do NOT get it.

2. They believe that Islamists are our enemies and Zionists are our friends.

On this subject, the vast majority of evangelical Christians are proving themselves to be absolute dupes. Think this through:

On the one hand, “Christians” and “conservatives” spend countless hours, expend limitless energy and spend millions of dollars demonizing Muslims. The threat of Muslims justifies the “War on Terror.” The threat of Muslims justifies a burgeoning Police State. The threat of Muslims is promoted in fundraising letters, periodicals, books, radio broadcasts, TV shows, etc., by practically every “conservative” political and religious organization in the country.

Part of Donald Trump’s popularity among “conservatives” and “Christians” is the manner in which he invokes fear of and hatred toward Muslims. Ditto for the vast majority of Christian pastors and television evangelists. They all promote the mass killing of Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Somalia, Pakistan, etc.

But on the other hand, they all happily endorse sending billions of dollars in arms and munitions to the Muslims in Saudi Arabia. Muslims in Iran are said to be our enemies, but Muslims in Saudi Arabia are our “allies.” REALLY? What kind of hallucinogenic are they ingesting?

The truth is, the most violent, bloodthirsty people in the Muslim world today are the Wahhabi Muslims in Saudi Arabia. Wahhabis are the ones who were used to form terror groups such as ISIS, al-Nusra, etc. Wahhabis are the ones who are murdering thousands of innocent men, women and children in Yemen and throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa. Wahhabis are the ones who round up and torture, maim, dismember, imprison and murder Christians, Jews AND non-Wahhabi Muslims within Saudi Arabia. If you believe the official story of 9/11, it was Wahhabi Muslims from Saudi Arabia that flew those jets into the Twin Towers.

Yet, America sends billions of dollars in weapons to the Wahhabi Muslims in Saudi Arabia—and “conservatives” and “Christians” are all for it. A few days ago, TV evangelist Pat Robertson used his vast Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) to defend America’s friendship and partnership with the Wahhabi Muslims in Saudi Arabia.

Why must Americans hate and bomb and kill Shia Muslims in Iran and Syria, while at the same time, we must befriend, partner with, and finance Wahhabi Muslims in Saudi Arabia—and even look the other way as they inflict the cruelest and most evil acts of barbarity and bloodshed?

In typical bloodthirsty fashion, Wahhabi Muslims murdered a permanent U.S. resident, Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi (who was openly critical of the Saudi regime), and what did President Trump do? He boldly proclaimed Wahhabi Muslim Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s denial of any culpability in Khashoggi’s murder to be “credible.” Trump further said he has no plans to interfere with the $110 billion arms deal with Salman.

It is a total coincidence, of course, that at the very moment Trump was providing cover for the Wahhabi government of Saudi Arabia, Prince Salman was transferring over $100 million to Trump’s government in the United States. I’m sure it is also a coincidence that Donald Trump owes his financial survival to the Wahhabi Muslims in Saudi Arabia who bailed Trump out of at least two financial bankruptcies—as did the Zionists in Israel.

As an aside, Donald Trump seems to have a penchant to cover up or even defend violence. During a recent Montana rally, Trump praised Republican Congressman Greg Gianforte, saying “he’s my guy.”

What made Gianforte Trump’s guy? He physically attacked London Guardian newspaper reporter Ben Jacobs and body-slammed him to the floor in a violent, unprovoked attack. So much for Trump and Gianforte’s devotion to the First Amendment and the unalienable right to life. Gianforte is a large man who could have very easily broken the reporter’s back or neck in the unprovoked attack—an attack that he initially denied until it was discovered that the whole thing was captured on audio.(Listen to the audio and hear how the reporter was calmly asking Gianforte a question and how Gianforte exploded into a rage and body slammed the reporter without warning.) Fortunately, the reporter’s injuries were not severe. The congressman then pleaded guilty to the assault and was given a slap on the wrist.

I submit that what Saudi Prince Salman did to U.S. resident journalist Khashoggi (attack and kill him) and what Congressman Greg Gianforte did to London Guardian newspaper reporter Ben Jacobs (attack and body slam him) was only a difference of degree. Both journalists were attacked (because a member of the power elite didn’t like what they were reporting): One was injured; the other was killed. But it was the same evil, hate-filled heart that committed both crimes. And Donald Trump fully supports both of these vicious attackers. (Oh! Did I mention that Gianforte is very rich? He is.) But I digress.

Where is the fear mongering and hate mongering toward the Wahhabi Muslims of Saudi Arabia from America’s “conservatives” and “Christians?”

Not only do “conservatives” and “Christians” make (non-Wahhabi) Muslims their perpetual scapegoats; they totally and thoroughly embrace Jewish Zionists as their best friends. Never mind that Zionists have done more to destroy America’s historic Christian culture than any group of people on the planet; never mind that Zionists have taken control of the mainstream media (that “conservatives” and “Christians” love to hate); never mind that Zionist money and influence have polluted America’s entertainment industries and political institutions; never mind that the Zionist State of Israel is a bloodthirsty apartheid state; never mind that Zionist Israel is (along with Wahhabi Muslim Saudi Arabia) the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East. Never mind that Christians have been duped and deceived by C.I. Scofield’s Israel-based prophecy propaganda; never mind that under Christ’s New Covenant, the Zionists of Israel are no more “God’s chosen people” than the Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia. Never mind any of that. To “conservatives” and “Christians” everywhere, Israel is our “friend.”

I’m telling you: People who want to demonize the Muslim states (except Saudi Arabia, of course) and idolize the State of Israel do NOT get it—not in any form or fashion.

3. They believe that Donald Trump is a superhero who is fighting the Deep State.

These people truly do NOT get it.

Again, the Deep State is apolitical. Left and right, conservative and liberal mean nothing to the Deep State. Until the American people wake up to that fact—and wake up to the fact that the primary focus and agenda of the Deep State is PERPETUAL WAR—they will always be in the dark about the Deep State.

For the Deep State, the name of the game is WAR. War advances the goals and enriches the pockets of Deep State moguls more than anything else in the world. “Nation-building,” “regime-change,” “fighting terror,” “exporting democracy,” etc., are the rubrics under which the Deep State wages its perpetual never-ending wars. This is what the Deep State is all about.

To know whether a politician—especially a President—is in the pocket of the Deep State, look no further than the way he or she wages war. And anyone who is even halfway objective and awake can see that Donald Trump has become one of the Deep State’s most effective servants.

I’ll say it straight out: The Deep State doesn’t hate or fear Donald Trump; it loves Donald Trump, because Donald Trump is the warmonger’s warmonger.

Donald Trump is on a pace to drop more bombs and kill more innocent people during his first four years in office than Barack Obama did during eight years in office. In fact, Trump is dropping a bomb somewhere in the world every 12 minutes. This report notes:

We now know that Donald Trump’s administration puts all previous presidents to shame. The Pentagon’s numbers show that during George W. Bush’s eight years he averaged 24 bombs dropped per day, which is 8,750 per year. Over the course of Obama’s time in office, his military dropped 34 bombs per day, 12,500 per year. And in Trump’s first year in office, he averaged 121 bombs dropped per day, for an annual total of 44,096.

If the Deep State loved Obama, it absolutely adores Trump, because Donald Trump is escalating the Warfare State “to infinity and beyond.” Last Tuesday, Vice President Mike Pence even suggested that the Trump administration is considering deploying nuclear weapons into outer space.

This report is spot-on:

The United States’ economy is a military-industrial complex. Therefore any multilateral arms control treaty that limits weapons and war tensions is by definition incompatible with the functioning of American-style capitalism.

President Donald Trump’s announced intention of withdrawing the US from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty is but the latest move by Washington in undoing decades of hard-won arms controls agreements.

The US unilaterally scrapped the Anti-Ballistic Missiles (ABM) Treaty back in 2002 under then-President GW Bush. That breach of a decades-old treaty has led to the installation of American missile systems in Europe ever-closer to Russian territory, as the US-led NATO military alliance relentlessly expanded eastwards.

By abandoning the INF, the US will have license to expand missile forces towards Russian and Chinese territory. Such an aggressive move could not be done openly for political reasons. Therefore, Washington is finding a pretext for its own violations by accusing Moscow of breaching the INF. Russia has repeatedly rejected US claims that it has violated the treaty, pointing out that the American side has never presented evidence to back up its claims.

The bigger picture [is] the US economy as a war-driven system. With an annual spend of over $700 billion on military – about half the total discretionary US budget and multiples more than any other foreign nation – the American economy is dependent on its military-industrial complex. That monstrous deformation of American capitalism, first warned by President Eisenhower in 1961, can only exist in the realm of relentless weapons production. That, in turn, relies on the US constantly creating global tensions and uncertainty, even to the point of inciting war.

Senator Rand Paul said:

This is why John Bolton shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near US foreign policy. This [pulling out of the INF treaty] would undo decades of bipartisan arms control dating from Reagan. We shouldn’t do it.

Here are Dr. Ron Paul’s sagacious remarks contained in an interview with RT.com:

The US is saturated with weapons and doesn’t need a new nuclear build-up, former congressman Ron Paul has told RT, commenting on President Donald Trump’s threat to quit the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces in Europe (INF) treaty.

The former Republican congressman and head of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity told RT that he doesn’t believe a potential US withdrawal from the 1987 treaty would do anything to enhance US security.

Trump, if he follows through with his threat and tears down the landmark treaty, signed between US President Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, “won’t do us any good,” Paul said.

The US military industrial complex will try to justify the nuclear build-up by pointing to China’s militarization, a growing source of concern for the military establishment.

“It means that the American government, the military industrial complex wants to make a lot more weapons, because it is the Chinese: ‘The Chinese are making all those weapons, why can’t’ we?'”

Paul doesn’t believe that the supposed Chinese menace is a legitimate reason to keep churning out more weapons.

“We have enough weapons, not only to self-destruct but to destroy the world 10 times over and we don’t need to worry about not having enough weapons around.”

If the US pulls out of the treaty, it’s not because there is any need for more weaponry.

“I don’t think that’s a real argument,” Paul said.

Former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under President Ronald Reagan, Paul Craig Roberts, writes this about Trump’s decision to withdraw from the INF treaty:

It has taken the US military/security complex 31 years to get rid of President Reagan’s last nuclear disarmament achievement—the INF Treaty that President Reagan and Soviet President Gorbachev achieved in 1987.

The Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty was ratified by the US Senate on May 27, 1988 and became effective a few days later on June 1. Behind the scenes, I had some role in this, and as I remember what the treaty achieved was to make Europe safe from nuclear attack by Soviet short and intermediate range missiles, and to make the Soviet Union safe from US attack from short and intermediate range US nuclear missiles in Europe. By restricting nuclear weapons to ICBMs, which allowed some warning time, thus guaranteeing retaliation and non-use of nuclear weapons, the INF Treaty was regarded as reducing the risk of an American first-strike on Russia and a Russian first-strike on Europe, strikes that could be delivered by low-flying cruise missiles with next to zero warning time.

When President Reagan appointed me to a secret Presidential committee with subpoena power over the CIA, he told the members of the secret committee that his aim was to bring the Cold War to an end, with the result that, in his words, “those God-awful nuclear weapons would be dismantled.” President Reagan, unlike the crazed neoconservatives, who he fired and prosecuted, saw no point in nuclear war that would destroy all life on earth. The INF Treaty was the beginning, in Reagan’s mind, of the elimination of nuclear weapons from military arsenals. The INF Treaty was chosen as the first start because it did not substantially threaten the budget of the US military/security complex, and actually increased the security of the Soviet military. In other words, it was something that Reagan and Gorbachev could get past their own military establishments. Reagan hoped that as trust built, more nuclear disarmament would proceed.

Now that President Reagan’s remaining achievement has been destroyed, what are the consequences of the Trump administration’s concession to the profits of the US military/security complex?

There are many, none good.

The massive US military/security complex profits will increase as more increasingly scarce American resources flow into the production of intermediate range missiles in order to counter “the Russian threat.” The Republicans will want to pay for this by cutting Social Security and Medicare.

The Zionist neoconservatives now have their hope rekindled of re-establishing American and Israeli hegemony with an undetected first strike nuclear cruise missile attack on Russia.

The vast majority of the peoples in the world have no idea what is happening. They are trying to find or to keep jobs, to provide housing and food, to find the money for a mortgage or car or credit card payment in the US, and in much of the world water to drink and a bit of food to eat. They are stressed out. They have no energy to confront bad news or to figure out what is happening.

Donald Trump’s war fever is dangerously high. No wonder quintessential war hawk Senator Lindsey Graham suddenly loves Donald Trump. Trump is pushing the war envelope to every part of the globe. Iran, Syria, Pakistan, India, Russia, China and Venezuela are all under threat of imminent military—or even nuclear—attack by Donald Trump. Is Trump a madman, or is he merely the Deep State’s most loyal subject? It really won’t matter when the mushroom clouds start going up.

Anyone who believes that Donald Trump is fighting the Deep State truly does NOT get it.

There are many more tell-tale signs of how to identify people who do NOT get it, of course. But none are more glaring than the three listed in this column. Remember these signs as you listen to your “patriot” friends and our politicians talk, and they will never be able to buffalo you again.

Chuck Baldwin: America’s Financial Day Of Reckoning

In a letter to President Thomas Jefferson, John Adams wrote:

All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America arise not from defects in the Constitution or Confederation, nor from want of honor or virtue, as much as downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit and circulation.

Thomas Jefferson would later write to John Taylor:

I sincerely believe with you, that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.

Jefferson would also warn:

We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion [excess] and servitude.

Today, our nation has sunk into insolvency, and a serious financial day of reckoning is fast approaching. The governing class in Washington D.C., (in both parties) continues to load us and our posterity with perpetual debt and servitude. Most Americans are “distressed,” “perplexed” and “confused” because they have not been taught sound money principles or the evils of central banking.

In 1910, a secretive cabal of Wall Street and international bankers conspired to create the Federal Reserve System, which became our nation’s central bank in 1913. Our Founding Fathers were well acquainted with the evils of central banking (beginning with the Bank of England in 1694), and they diligently sought to enshrine hard money principles into our Constitution.

In 1913, our national debt was $2.9 billion, and today it is $21 trillion—an incomprehensible 746,000% increase!  According to the U.S. debt clock, our unfunded liabilities now exceed $115 trillion, and each taxpayer is on the hook for over $1 million.

Our present banking system was conceived in fraud and deceit by our modern money changers and corrupt politicians.

James Madison wrote:

History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain control over governments by controlling the money and its issuance.

When our Lord saw the money changers in the Temple, He drove them off at the force of a whip on at least THREE separate occasions. No wonder the Pharisees hated Him so much.

The only congressman or presidential candidate (from either major party) in modern memory who consistently spoke out against the money changers was Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX). For decades he tried to convince the American people that it was essential to our national survival that we demand that our congressmen and senators end the Fed. Very few paid him any heed, and now I doubt that there is any legislative remedy.

Evangelical Christians, pastors and “conservatives” continue to support puppet candidates who are beholden to the money changers. Oh, they may express concern about our national debt and unconstitutional financial practices, but they are not calling for the Fed to be abolished. They cannot even get a bill through Congress to audit the Fed. Neither are they willing to rein in the out-of-control federal spending inside the Beltway.

And for all of his rhetoric, a Trump presidency has not made any difference. The Republican-controlled Congress and President Donald Trump have exploded the growth of the federal deficit over $1 trillion during the last fiscal year alone. Trump has even called for eliminating the debt ceiling altogether. Under Trump and the Republicans in Congress, the pattern of reckless, out-of-control, unconstitutional deficit spending is skyrocketing at levels equal to or exceeding Democrat administrations and congresses.

Trump is such a hypocrite! After the recent downturn in the Stock Market, Trump lambasted the head of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell (CFR)—the same man that HE APPOINTED AND REFUSES TO RECALL. It is incredible to me how people have fallen for this charlatan. He continually appoints swamp creatures to his administration, and then when they keep filling the swamp, he turns around and gripes about it and says that he is trying to drain the swamp. And people actually fall for this charade. I’ve never seen anything like it. But I digress.

America is facing a dangerous tipping point. In reality, our federal government is bankrupt. The only things keeping America’s economy afloat are a government living on borrowed “money” (which cannot last forever), the Federal Reserve’s printing presses that create “money” out of thin air (which also cannot continue indefinitely) and the fact that the U.S. dollar is the world’s reserve currency. And how much longer can THAT last?

Margaret Thatcher famously said,

Socialist governments . . . always run out of other people’s money.

Indeed.

This recent financial report states:

The US economy is on the rise, but its expansion is coming to an end, warns Scott Minerd, Global Chief Investment Officer at investment firm Guggenheim Partners.

“Just as an iceberg loomed in the distant darkness to be struck by the Titanic under full steam, so the US economy approaches the distant fiscal drag of 2020 under the full steam of rate hikes to contain inflation and an overheating labor market,” he wrote on Twitter.

George Washington said it succinctly and powerfully:

“Paper money has had the effect in your State that it will ever have, to ruin commerce— oppress the honest, and open the door to every species of fraud and injustice.”

As I noted at the beginning of this column, Thomas Jefferson warned us that banking institutions are more dangerous than standing armies. This reality holds true to this day—and probably even more so. America is facing a financial day of reckoning: of that there is no doubt.

Everyone knows that the current stock market is in another bubble that will burst at any time. And Donald Trump has taken us to the precipice of global nuclear war. The Department of Defense (DOD) is urging its employees to stock up on gas masks and iodine pills (I have seen the documents). Power companies around the country are already scurrying to figure out what they will do in the event of an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse). Hurricanes are buffeting the Gulf Coast, and fires are raging throughout the West. God’s patience with America might be running out.

One thing is undeniable: Gold and silver have formed the world’s economic baseline for virtually all of mankind’s existence. And this is also a fact: There is no better time—or even a more necessary time—to invest in gold and silver than RIGHT NOW.

Another recent financial report states, “If you want to preserve your wealth, buy physical gold,” expert says:

THE ANTI-TRUMP RIOTS ARE A SMOKE SCREEN THE REAL GOAL – ELIMINATE THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE

Many seem bewildered by the anti-Trump riots and demonstrations that have covered the nation since the 2016 election. And many keep trying to find a reasonable response. Give it up. You can’t reason with them with words.

Here is my take. They know full well that they aren’t going to overturn the election. These privately funded forces are being used to create pressure to destroy the Electoral College so they won’t have to deal with it next election. This is how the Left operates. Make a big deal over here to force the hidden agenda over there. The plan is to make enough trouble that Congress will move to abolish the EC to get some peace.

For clues on who is behind this effort one only has to watch to see which member of Congress would propose such action. The answer, of course, was California Senator Barbara Boxer. It only took a week after the election for her to come to the rescue of the broken and distraught Left.

The danger is real and gaining ground. But it didn’t start with the 2016 election result. A campaign to eliminate the Electoral College and “let the people elect the president,” has been gaining steam for several years. A group called “National Popular Vote Interstate Compact,” http://www.nationalpopularvote.com/ started in 2006, has won commitments from eleven states to award their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote. These include Maryland, New Jersey, Illinois, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Massachusetts, California, New York, Hawaii, the District of Columbia and Connecticut. These states control 172 electoral votes. They only need states representing 98 more electoral votes to join and the Electoral College will be a thing of the past. Meanwhile, such legislation is under consideration in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arizona, to name a few.

When a state passes legislation to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, it pledges that all of that state’s electoral votes will be given to whichever presidential candidate wins the popular vote nationwide. These bills will take effect only when states with a majority of the electoral votes have passed similar legislation. States with electoral votes totaling 270 of the 538 electoral votes would have to pass NPV bills before the compact kicks in and any state’s bill could take effect.

As usual, it’s easy to get people to join this cause – yet another sound bite based on emotion rather than knowledge or logic. “Let the people decide.” “It’s the American way.” “It’s Democracy at work.” Yep, that’s why America was never set up as a democracy. Here’s another sound bite for you – “Democracy is a lynch mob.” Here’s another one – “Democracy is three wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.” Majority rule violates the rights of minorities. It’s not a good thing.  Get the picture?

The United States was created by the individual sovereign states. They were already free and independent governments on their own. As they came together to create a central government they feared it would grow too strong and overpower the states, making them subjugated to the central government. So, to prevent that, the states created the Electoral College to make the election of the President a STATE election.

Throughout history, certain factions have challenged the legality of the Electoral College. Opponents point out that our President is actually elected by 538 virtually unknown people who are members of 51 small delegations in fifty States and the District of Columbia. Moreover, in most states, the electors are not even bound to vote for the candidate that won the popular vote. In fact, many Constitutional scholars believe that’s just what the founders intended, 538 independent thinkers, bound to no one. There is reason and logic behind the idea.

The Founding Fathers, particularly those from small States, were very concerned that they would be smothered by the larger states. Under the representative republic (not a democracy) established by the founders, the United States is made up of fifty sovereign States. Under the Constitution, except for limited powers specifically defined for the central government, power for the rule of law is intended to reside in the States.

To deal with the problem, the founders decided on a compromise that would establish two chambers for the Congress; the House of Representatives, whose size would be dictated by the population in each state and the Senate in which every state would get two representatives, regardless of its size or population. You see, in the beginning, the states appointed Senators to be their representatives in Congress. But, like these so-called scholars of today who want to wreck the Electoral College, previous “experts” came up with the idea that Senators should be elected by the people – “It’s only fair,” went the mantra! The result is an imperial Senate that answers to no one but their own elite club members. That’s what happens when you mess with the real genius of the Constitution.

The same problem arose in deciding how to select a President, the one nationally-elected official. Here again, there was the fear that election by popular vote would overwhelm the will of smaller States. Again, a compromise was reached to address the issue in a fair and equitable manner in order to maintain the power of the states. Each state was assigned a number of presidential electoral votes equal to its representation in the House and the Senate. In each state, the electors would vote for a President and Vice President. The candidate receiving the largest number of electoral votes would be elected.

Under the plan, the connection to the popular vote was the selection of state electors. The popular vote was to be used to select individuals trusted by the people to select the President. Each presidential candidate has a slate of electors committed to them. As the people vote for a candidate, they are actually electing his/her slate of electors. Again, the selection of electors goes directly to local control of the process. Under the Constitution, even the smallest state was assured at least three votes in the process. To provide a further check to protect the smaller states, in the event no candidate won a majority of the electoral vote, the names of the top five would go to the House of Representatives, where each state delegation would cast one vote for one of the candidates. In this process each state, again, is equal.

To understand the Electoral College one must realize that the Founders considered the states as the dominant power in the nation. Election of the office of President was a bit like the selection of the Chairman of the Board, with the states serving as the board of directors for the nation. The great mistake Electoral College opponents make is to believe the President was supposed to be elected by the people. It was never the plan.

There are fundamental and often regional differences in how Americans view the role of government and the leaders they elect to run it. Little wonder those who seek to strengthen the power of the central government prefer that elections be decided by the popular vote. It’s a great sound bite- but the results will not give “the people” the “fair” result they desire.

Such a move will eliminate the power of individual states in favor of elections decided by the population of large, politically liberal cities. I’ve actually heard it said by residents of California, San Francisco, in particular, “why do we even let people in Ohio and Iowa vote?” Such elitism is behind the “National Popular Vote” movement which apparently believes that only the East and West Coasts count. The rest is just flyover country.

Keep these facts in mind as we watch the enforcement of Sustainable Development policies that lead to Smart Growth cities. The stated plans of such ideas are that most people will eventually be ‘persuaded” to leave the rural areas and migrate to the cities. In addition, we now are witnessing the invasion of illegal immigrants who normally land in such communities and swell their size.

The “feel good” propaganda of the National Popular Vote movement insists that a popular vote would not change the face of the nation. However, by design or not, the fact is their scheme plays right into the hands of the Sustainablists who openly seek top-down control through the establishment of megacities. By forcing the massive majority of citizens into such areas, a majority vote in just a few will drown any other area in the nation.

In such a planned agenda for the 21st Century, individuals living in the majority of the nation’s territory will quickly learn how little their “popular vote” counts if the Electoral College is abandoned by the “National Popular Vote” scheme. Those smaller states (and therefore their votes) may have no impact on the election of the President, just as our founders feared. Control by a few over the many can only be defined as tyranny.

The abolishment of the Electoral College would, in fact, establish an election tyranny giving control of the government to the massive population centers of the nation’s Northeastern sector, along with the area around Los Angeles. If these sections of the nation were to control the election of our nation’s leaders, the voice of the ranchers and farmers of the Mid and Far West would be lost, along with the values and virtues of the South. It would also mean the end of the Tenth Amendment and state sovereignty.

Not happy to even let the states decide if they want to support the idea of the National Popular vote or not, the hard Left has manufactured the unrest in the streets to pressure a fast solution. In 2016 Senator Boxer answered the call with legislation to end the Electoral College. Such demands to end it masquerade as the answer to the people’s unrest. If achieved the end, the result will have nothing to do with Donald Trump. He is just the convenient excuse.

Allow that to happen now and the great silent majority of middle America in this nation will never again have a fair say in who is elected our president. And that is the true goal of today’s unrest.

Chuck Baldwin: The Illusions Of Hope

Patrick Henry may have said it best:

It is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

Henry’s observations of the nature of human nature are as true today as they were on March 23, 1775, when Henry spoke them. It is indeed “natural to indulge in the illusions of hope.” It is equally natural for men to “shut [their] eyes against a painful truth.” And Patrick Henry was not the only one to understand this human frailty—so do con men, charlatans, crooks and conspirators.

Dishonest, deceptive, duplicitous scoundrels know that most people are trusting by nature. They know that most people prefer comfort and are not quick to forsake it. Scoundrels know that people need hope, and the scoundrels are all too eager to give them hope—or at least the illusions of it. They also know that people such as Patrick Henry are an aberration of humanity: most are NOT willing “to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.” They know that most people “shut [their] eyes against a painful truth,” that “having eyes, [they] see not, and, having ears, [they] hear not.”

Pernicious predatory politicians constantly prey on this natural weakness of man. They tell people what they want to hear; they play to their wants and fears; and they cast themselves as the hero for which people yearn. And even though secularists seem to have no comprehension of it, many of these pretenders are assisted by a supernatural ability to bewitch (Galatians 3:1) trusting and unsuspecting souls. It is my studied opinion that Donald Trump is such a man.

Trump has given hope to those who were drowning in hopelessness. He has convinced them that he is their political savior. He plays to their wants and fears. He tells them what they want to hear. And he does it so masterfully, so perfectly, that he has brought millions of people (including Christians) under his spell.

Before being elected, Trump said, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters.” And he wasn’t making that up. He knew he had mesmerized them.

For two years now, it hasn’t mattered to a tinker’s dam what Trump does or doesn’t do. He has given people the “illusions of hope,” and they dare not let go. Their hope is in Trump. This is more than support or appreciation—or even love; this is worship. The “always Trump” crowd literally worships Donald Trump. From a spiritual perspective, they have been bewitched. They are hypnotized. They are in a trance. And they dare not allow themselves to be awakened, for if they were, they would have “to know the worst, and to provide for it.” This they are not willing to do.

For this reason they allow themselves to believe the pathetic propaganda of QAnon; they mindlessly believe the outlandish lie that there are 55,000 sealed indictments against members of the Deep State (and to these people, the definition of Deep State is anyone who does not agree with Donald Trump). I have even heard them speak in rapturous euphoria about Trump secretly colluding with military personnel to implement martial law, rounding up all of the bad guys (again, the people who oppose Trump) and taking them at gunpoint before military tribunals. (Can you imagine what these same people would have said had Obama’s supporters said this?) In fact, many of these Trump toadies have written me to say that when this Trump/military coup begins, I am on the list to be taken away. I am telling you, folks, all of this is VERY REAL to these people. Again, these people are bewitched; they are victims of seducing spirits (I Timothy 4:1) that are empowering Donald Trump. And, as Patrick Henry said, many are being transformed into “beasts.” Cheering for the rise of an American version of Germany’s Brown Shirts or GESTAPO and the positive anticipation of a nation under martial law are truly BEASTLY concepts that come from BEASTLY hearts.

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption. (II Peter 2:12)

Nevertheless man being in honour [having wealth and power] abideth not: he is like the beasts [in murderous brutality] that perish. (Psalms 49:12)

Not to mention that any kind of martial law, complete with roundups and military tribunals, totally destroys the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights and fractures the very foundation of a free American republic.

But it is pointless to discuss the Constitution with these people. It is pointless to discuss the way Trump has filled his administration with neocons, CFR and Bilderberg globalists or the way he panders to Zionist Israel or his lack of any action against abortion and even taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood or the way he increases deficit spending comparable to that of any Democrat or the way he continues to escalate the phony “War on Terror.” These people are absolutely deaf to these things. They are deaf to truth, deaf to constitutional government, and they are blind to the evidence that stares them in the face every day.

I’m telling you, Donald Trump is not the enemy of the Deep State; he is a servant of the Deep State. The same elitists that controlled Trump’s predecessors control Trump. For those who have the courage to watch, here is a sample of what I’m talking about. Watch this video, and you will see Trump reading from the same script (almost word for word) that Barack Obama read from when he announced his missile attacks against Syria. Watch it, and then tell me how Donald Trump is not controlled by the same neocon warmongers that have been taking this country to unjust foreign wars ever since the presidency of G.W. Bush.

Trump’s maniacal sanctions against Iran are an incitement to war and are dooming the American economy to suffer the pangs of severe inflation. Experts are already predicting $100 per barrel oil prices. And when oil prices inflate, ALL prices inflate. Plus, Trump’s Deep State operatives are destabilizing Venezuela, and Trump is threatening to send the U.S. military into that oil-rich country. Venezuela is one of the world’s largest oil producers and has the world’s second largest natural gas reserves. What a coincidence that most of the nations that neocons target in their perpetual war schemes are rich in oil. And tell me again what threat Venezuela poses to the United States.

Then we hear Trump’s toady Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke put forth the threat that America could and might put a naval blockade around Russia in order to curtail its exports. Can you imagine?

My friends, it will be an absolute miracle if America is not in a global war, complete with crippling inflation and a collapsed economy, before the end of Trump’s term in office. And if it doesn’t happen, it won’t be because Trump didn’t do his best to make it happen.

Plus, everyone is praising Trump for fixing the economy, but top economists are warning that what we are seeing is merely another bubble, and when it bursts it will make the recession in 2008 and 2009 look mild by comparison.

And as I pointed out in this column last week, President Trump and the Republicans in Congress just passed a massive $854 billion spending bill that continues to fund virtually all of the left’s radical social agendas, including fully funding Planned Parenthood and fetal tissue research.

And as the federal government just concluded its 2018 fiscal year, we read this report:

The federal debt increased by $1,271,158,167,126.72 in fiscal 2018, according to data released today by the Treasury.

The total federal debt started the fiscal year at $20,244,900,016,053.51 according to the Treasury, and finished the fiscal year at $21,516,058,183,180.23.

The federal fiscal year runs from October 1 through September 30.

So, the GOP controls both houses of Congress and the White House (with Donald Trump as President), and not only can they NOT defund Planned Parenthood and fetal tissue research, they cannot defund the left’s radical social agendas or keep from increasing the federal deficit by over ONE TRILLION DOLLARS.

In addition, Donald Trump and the GOP leadership are up to their eyeballs in facilitating the neocon/globalist/Zionist perpetual war agenda even to the point of protecting U.S. “allies” who are engaged in the most despicable forms of child sex slavery in the process. Here is the report:

“Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) last week tried to block billions in U.S. taxpayer funds from going to the Afghan military and police forces unless its units stopped sexually abusing young boys, but he was opposed by Senate Foreign Relations Committee leaders.

During a committee business meeting last Wednesday considering the reauthorization of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000, Paul proposed an amendment to withhold all U.S. funding for all Afghan security forces unless the U.S. government’s watchdog in Afghanistan could verify those forces were not using children as child soldiers or sex slaves.

The U.S. is slated to provide Afghan security forces — military and police — with $4.92 billion in 2019 for equipment, training, supplies, services, infrastructure repair and other funding.

Paul told other members, according to a transcript of the business meeting first obtained by Breitbart News: “I think that the committee is right to be gravely concerned with sexual trafficking and abuse of young people around the world in a variety of countries. I think we shouldn’t turn a blind eye towards when our allies are responsible for this, as well.”

Specifically, Paul referred to the common Afghan practice of “bacha bazi” — or using boys as young as 10 years old for sex. Some U.S. troops who have deployed to Afghanistan have tried to stop instances of sexual abuse when they have come across it, but have been punished for doing so, according to reports.

However, Chairman Bob Corker (R-TN) and Ranking Member Bob Menendez (D-NJ) backed a counter-amendment to require the Departments of Defense and State to report on implementation of recommendations made by SIGAR on ending the practice [which means nothing will be done and the practice will continue].

Paul’s amendment failed, while Corker’s passed.

Tell me again how Donald Trump and the Republican Party are so “conservative.”

Let me put this in perspective for you: Republicans have held the House of Representatives (that means the federal purse strings) for 20 of the last 24 years. The GOP has controlled the Senate for 11 of the last 19 congresses. In addition, the GOP has controlled the Supreme Court since before 1973 when Roe v Wade was decided. And going back to the election of 1968, Republicans have held 8 of 13 presidential administrations. But they need ONE MORE ELECTION to get something done. BALDERDASH! Donald Trump and the GOP are playing Christians and conservatives like a fiddle.

Before the American people can begin the process of restoring their constitutional republic, they MUST be willing to stop indulging in the illusions of hope and stop shutting their eyes to painful truth. And, like Patrick Henry, they must be willing to know the whole truth, to know the worst, and to provide for it.

Christians and conservatives think that all they have to do is vote for a Republican president and then spend the next four years blindly supporting him—no matter how unconstitutional, immoral or wrong he is—and all will be well with America. Oh! And, of course, they must get out and work like crazy for Republicans in the midterms, because, after all, as Trump said, “When you vote for Republicans in November, you are voting for ME.”

But we Americans are supposed to be voting for the Constitution when we vote. This is not about liberals or conservatives, Democrats or Republicans or left vs. right. And it is certainly not about building a government around one man: Donald Trump. This is supposed to be about electing men and women regardless of race, religion or party affiliation who will “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of The United States.”

Donald Trump has turned not only the entire country but the entire world into a “you are either with ME or against ME” equation. And too many conservatives and Christians are absolutely blinded and bewitched by this man.

The tendency to “indulge in the illusions of hope” and to “shut [one’s] eyes against a painful truth” may indeed be natural. But, ladies and gentlemen, blind bewitching worship of a political leader is not only the result of supernatural seducing spirits, it is downright dangerous to any nation’s future.

We witnessed shades of this blind robotic fawning over a President during the administrations of Ronald Reagan and G.W. Bush (and the left fawned over Obama just as blindly), but nothing to this degree. This is surreal. And it seems to get worse by the hour.

I am thankful for the few times that Donald Trump has demonstrated fidelity to the Constitution. And I am not criticizing anyone who voted for Donald Trump over his opponent in 2016. But what I am trying to warn against is the way conservatives—and especially evangelical Christians—have practically turned Trump into an idol and are ascribing all kinds of praises and platitudes to him that are so out of proportion to the truth that it convinces me that these folks have given heed to seducing spirits and have set themselves up for a bigger fall than they could possibly imagine.

P.S. Not long ago, I brought a message on the subject of hope. Tragically, many Christians SAY they are trusting God, but in reality they have placed their hope and trust in politicians (especially Donald Trump) and political parties (especially the Republican Party). This is a recipe for disaster.

I fear that when America’s evangelicals wake up to the reality that Donald Trump has deceived them, their disappointment will be so great, the damage could be fatal to our country. Oh! If only Christians could awaken from the trance they are in and clearly see the hope that is found in the principles and truths of God’s Natural and Revealed laws, it could doubtless restore a Biblical perspective of our proper duties and responsibilities—and maybe revive constitutional liberties in the process.

Cruz’s response to restaurant attack: Christian, wise, and classy

Upon watching the video of Senator Ted Cruz and his wife Heidi being chased out of a Washington, D.C. restaurant, I felt frustrated.  I was not frustrated over leftist minions’ insane over-the-top attack on Ted and Heidi.  Such in-your-face bullying has become the left’s new normal since the election of President Trump.  What frustrates me is fake news media promoting the hate groups who attacked Cruz (Smash Racism D.C., Resist This, D.C. IWW, D.C. Democratic Socialists of America, anarchists, LGBTQ, and others) as victims.

Violent leftist activists have been beating the American people into submission for decades, intensifying under Trump.  Leftist violence has elevated to kidnapping and physically assaulting people for expressing support for Trump’s agenda and wearing MAGA gear.  Yet fake news media, Democrats, and Hollywood continue telling us that enraged leftists attackers are the real victims and that we should be more tolerant and understanding.

Fake news media have given deranged leftists a pass to break laws and engage in any depraved behavior they deem necessary because they have the moral high ground.  According to the American left, it was honorable for Occupy Wall Street to dump a bucket of feces into thelobby of a public building.  It was honorable for a mob of Black Lives Matter minions to march down a New York street chanting, “What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? 

Now!”  It is honorable for leftist enforcers to surround and scream at a U.S. senator and his wife during dinner in a restaurant.  Incredibly, Cruz had to push his way through the angry, threatening mob and ask them to please let his wife go free.  Outrageous!

Applause is in order for the staff of the Fiola restaurant.  Rather than allow Ted and Heidi Cruz to be ejected, the staff escorted them to a private room until the blackshirts were run out, then returned them to their table to finish their meal in peace.  As chef and owner Fabio Trabocchi said, “[t]he FT Group welcomes all patrons and is proud of its reputation not just of culinary excellence but also of creating a welcoming space for all, irrespective of creed, ideology or opinion.”

The thugs who attacked Cruz and his wife in the restaurant repeatedly screamed, “We Believe Survivors!”  This is a typical tactic of leftists: changing the subject and jumping to extremes.  This leftist hit squad attempted to punish Cruz for his righteous commonsense decision to support Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court.  Honest, decent and extremely qualified for the Court, Kavanaugh has successfully jumped over every Democrat hurdle.  Kavanaugh has supplied more documents than numerous justices combined.

As a Hail Mary to stop Kavanaugh’s confirmation, Democrats produced a letter from a woman who claims that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her 36 years ago.  The woman does not have an ounce of evidence.

Leftists screaming, “We Believe Survivors!” means they have decreed that Kavanaugh is automatically guilty.  Thus, Cruz supporting Kavanaugh means that Cruz supports the abuse and rape of women.  Do you see how crazy and unjust that is, folks?

Yet fake news media and Democratic talking heads are all over the airwaves, praising their leftist hit squad for “shaming” Cruz.  These people on the left are delusional.  Cruz was not shamed.

Cruz stood tall, kept his cool, and rightfully removed his wife from the dangerous situation.  Given that Cruz is a Texan, I suspect that it took great restraint to respond so calmly, watching metrosexual wimps bully his wife.  Senator Ted Cruz behaved wisely.  Cruz even said, “God bless” – truly a Christian and classy response to evil.

At every turn, anti-American, anti-Christian, and anti-freedom leftist hate groups are allowed to use illegal, immoral, and violent attacks to cram their agenda down our throats.  When everyday normal Americans push back in the slightest, we are immediately attacked, branded racist, sexist, and homophobic intolerant haters.  It is truly frustrating watching leftists who do not give a rat’s derrière about people get celebrated for their superior compassion.  In reality, leftists view human beings as mere pawns, acceptable collateral damage in leftists’ quest to implement their agenda.

I, Sam Bushman, hereby officially endorse Ryan Bundy for Governor of Nevada.

After personal discussions, knowing him for years and my incredible, on-air radio interviews with Mr. Ryan Bundy and other family members, they have been found to be good, honest and wise Americans. Chuck Baldwin: Donald Trump And The GOP Are Exploding The Growth Of Deficit Spending

Anyone who believes that the Republican Party is conservative, especially in the area of federal spending, is seriously deluded. I have said for years: The only difference between Democrats and Republicans is Democrats want to tax and spend, and Republicans want to borrow and spend; but both parties want to SPEND.  And Donald Trump is no exception.

This recent business report states:

It’s Huuuuuge: US Budget Deficit Under Trump Rises 21%, Widest Gap in Six Years

The US is headed toward its largest annual deficit in six years, according to reports, and new facts released by the Fed point to Trump’s tax laws and heavy military spending as the reason for the spiraling vortex of national debt.

The Trump White House sharply altered its current US deficit estimates up — way up — last week, now projecting that the annual deficit will rise above $1 trillion for the first time since 2013, even as the Fed noted a $76.9 billion deficit for July alone, primarily a result of increased military and government spending as well as deep tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy.

The US Treasury Department — headed by Steve Mnuchin, a Trump pick that many in Congress have dubbed the ‘foreclosure king’ — has observed that in just the first 10 months of the 2018 fiscal year, the US deficit totaled $684 billion, a startling 20.8 percent rise over the same period in 2017.

US government revenue is up just 1 percent in 2018 to date, according to the Fed, as a big drop in corporate tax payments at the hands of the Trump administration has seen tax earnings for the Fed drop significantly.

Total government spending — particularly by the US military — has risen 4.4 percent, according to reports, after Congress boosted corporate-friendly programs and now suffers under the rapidly rising cost of financing an enormous debt, cited by Marketwatch.com.

As interest payments on US national debt jumped an astonishing 41 percent in July, many are wondering whether the system can sustain — nevermind correct — itself, according to Marketwatch.com.

US congressional budget analysts have estimated that the 2018 deficit will be some 19 percent larger than that for 2017.

Republican-authored tax laws and spending boosts approved by a Republican-controlled US Congress are noted to be the drivers of the rapidly increasing national debt, as the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has now predicted that trillion-dollar US deficits will return by 2020 at the latest.

Another report states:

A government spending spree of potentially historic proportions will play out over the final seven weeks of fiscal 2018, as federal agencies look to spend $140 billion more than they thought they’d get before Congress passed and President Trump signed the omnibus spending bill.

Without a budget agreement in place, agencies spent cautiously through the first two quarters of fiscal 2018 before the omnibus—signed six months late in March—obligated an additional $80 billion for defense and $63 billion for civilian agencies.

Federal agencies, now flush with cash, must obligate that money before the fiscal year ends on Sept. 30 or lose it to the Treasury Department. Analysts believe the federal market will see a monumental effort among procurement officials to spend as much on contracts as possible.

“If agencies are going to spend the extra money in fiscal 2018, it’s going to have to be at a much higher percentage in the fourth quarter than it has been historically,” David Berteau, president of the Professional Services Council, told Nextgov.

And, of course, President Trump just signed the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into law that approves a $717 billion budget for so-called defense-spending. According to CNBC,

The 2019 National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, includes $616.9 billion for the Pentagon’s base budget, $69 billion for overseas contingency operations.

“Overseas contingency operations” means America’s ongoing “War on Terror,” otherwise known as “Wars For The New World Order” or “Wars For Globalists” or “Wars For The Deep State” or “Wars For Israel.” For all intents and purposes, the terms “New World Order,” “Globalists,” Deep State,” etc., all include the same entity: the Zionist State of Israel.

Speaking of the “War on Terror,” if you have not ordered Christopher Bollyn’s blockbuster new book The War On Terror: The Plot To Rule The Middle East, I encourage you to do so quickly. This book dispels the myths and destroys the lies about who and what was behind the 9/11 attacks and what America’s “War on Terror” is really all about. And while we are on the subject, the American taxpayers continue to shell out billions of dollars for Benjamin Netanyahu’s Apartheid State.

Israel is Washington’s largest recipient of foreign aid. It’s mostly for militarism and belligerence – billions of dollars annually, far more than to any other nation.

The Jewish state’s imperial wars, occupation harshness, and apartheid high crimes don’t matter – nor its flagrant violations of international law, not even its abusive spying on US military and other operations.

The CIA earlier called Israel its main regional spy threat. The FBI once uncovered a large-scale US-based Israeli spy ring – still active the agency believes.

The Pentagon accused Israel of “actively engag(ing) in military and industrial espionage in the United States.”

Israel tries stealing everything it can get its hands on, including US military and industrial secrets, its main ally and benefactor.

The FY 2019 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes $500 million for US-Israel missile defense cooperation, $50 million more for the Jewish state’s war on Gaza’s tunnel economy, wanting vital goods it supplies cut off, further strangling its beleaguered people.

The measure authorizes an additional billion dollars to stockpile US weapons in Israel – available for its killing machine, used to terrorize Palestinians, to terror-bomb Gaza and Syria, to partner in Washington’s imperial aggression.

Like America, Israel’s only enemies are invented ones, no others. Both nations wage endless wars without declaring them.

For the first time, the FY 2019 NDAA establishes a cooperative US/Israeli R&D program to enhance countering unmanned aerial vehicles.

On August 1, Senate members passed S. 2497: United States-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2018 – unanimously without a roll call vote. Rubber-stamp House passage is certain.

The measure amends the 1961 Foreign Assistance Act and Arms Export Control Act. It authorizes additional funding for Israel’s killing machine, “and for other purposes” related to militarism and warmaking.

Congressional support for Israel is virtually unanimous. Both countries partner in each other’s high crimes.

New US funding for the Jewish state’s killing machine increases the Obama regime’s 2016 $38 billion package through 2026 – $3.8 billion annually, up from $3.1 billion a year earlier.

Most often, whatever Israel wants it gets – from the pockets of US taxpayers.

They’re largely unaware how their taxes are misused – for militarism, war-making and corporate handouts at the expense of other vital homeland needs.

All of Trump’s talk about draining the swamp and reining in the federal government is just that: TALK. Trump is spending money like a drunken sailor. No, that’s not really true. A drunken sailor spends his own money—money he has; Trump and his fellow miscreants in Washington, D.C., (from both parties) are spending OUR money—and it is money we don’t have.

Even the way Trump enacts tariffs is dishonest. After levying tariffs on foreign imports—ostensibly to balance the playing field in order to protect American trade interests—Trump turns around and gives billions of dollars to U.S. farmers that are hurt by those tariffs. Where do those billions of dollars come from? The U.S. taxpayers, that’s who. This is nothing more than old fashioned Crony Capitalism.

I’m telling you, Donald Trump doesn’t have an honest bone in his entire body. Like every other statist politician in Washington, D.C., Trump is bankrupting America to finance his Big-Government, Militaristic, Police State, Zionist agenda—all of his outsider, conservative rhetoric notwithstanding.

And still Republicans love him, and evangelical Christians adore him. Go figure.

Truly, no one can get by with out-of-control federal spending like Republicans. No one! Republicans in DC spend money the way Democrats talk about spending money.

As I said, the only difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats want to tax and spend, and Republicans want to borrow and spend. And borrow and spend is exactly what Donald Trump and the Republicans in Washington, D.C. are doing—like there is no tomorrow.

Chuck Baldwin: America’s Burgeoning Civil War

Make no mistake about it: America is already engaged in its second civil war. The decades-old left-right, conservative-liberal, Democrat-Republican paradigm that had (before Donald Trump’s election) almost evaporated is back—with a vengeance. In fact, it has turned into a full-fledged war. And it doesn’t matter to a tinker’s dam which side wins this war: Constitutional government and the Natural rights of man are the losers.

Take your pick. Maxine Waters or Donald Trump, Sean Hannity or Chris Matthews: Both sides are destroying the principles of federalism, constitutionalism and Natural Law. For all intents and purposes these principles are already dead. The American experiment in republicanism is over. From now on it’s the survival of the strongest. Might makes right. Logic, reason and sensible debate are buried in the dustbin of history. America has entered the next Dark Ages. And, sadly, there are hardly any Reformation preachers left in America to lead the nation into the light of liberty.

By removing Alex Jones, Ron Paul’s Institute For Peace And Prosperity executive director Daniel McAdams and Antiwar.com editorial director Scott Horton from their outlets, Silicon Valley—complete with its poster establishments Facebook, Youtube, Spotify, etc.—have proven themselves to be nothing but Naziesque censors hell-bent on destroying public dissent. As Ron Paul rightly noted, “In an empire of lies the truth is treason.”

And lest conservatives whine about being the big, bad victims in this discussion, the Trumpites are as bad as the Clintonites. Neither group cares a flip about the Constitution, Bill of Rights or Natural Law. All either side wants is the POWER to have things done their way—freedom and liberty be damned.

A recent survey has discovered that nearly half of Republicans want to give President Trump the power to shut down whatever media outlets he chooses. According to The Daily Beast:

Freedom of the press may be guaranteed in the Constitution. But a plurality of Republicans want to give President Trump the authority to close down certain news outlets, according to a new public opinion survey conducted by Ipsos and provided exclusively to The Daily Beast.

The findings present a sobering picture for the fourth estate, with respondents showing diminished trust in the media and increased support for punitive measures against its members. They also illustrate the extent to which Trump’s anti-press drumbeat has shaped public opinion about the role the media plays in covering his administration.

All told, 43 percent of self-identified Republicans said that they believed “the president should have the authority to close news outlets engaged in bad behavior.” Only 36 percent disagreed with that statement.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is getting ugly FAST. And I think that is exactly what the power elite had in mind when they handed the victory to Donald Trump in 2016. They knew Trump would incite a civil war; in fact, they intended that Trump would incite a civil war.

This is not to put all of the blame on Trump. Not at all. The left is just as culpable. Both sides are playing the game (wittingly or unwittingly) as scripted by the gamemakers. Donald Trump’s rhetoric is as vitriolic as Maxine Waters’. And Maxine Waters’ rhetoric is as vitriolic as Donald Trump’s. Neither side knows how to reason. Neither side knows even a smidgen about the Constitution or Natural Law, much less decency and decorum. We are watching junkyard dogs have at each other. The problem is, both packs of dogs are chewing up the bones of liberty and constitutional government in the process.

Let me tell you folks straight out: Donald Trump is as much a usurper of constitutional government as Maxine Waters. The only difference is the brand of tyranny that you prefer.

Both Trump and Waters act like there are only two sides to this argument. They act like the whole country is divided between the fascists of the right and the socialists of the left. Not true! There are millions of Americans from a variety of backgrounds, theologies and philosophies that are sick and tired of BOTH SIDES. Count me as one of them.

It doesn’t matter that everyone agrees with me (or you). What matters is that everyone respects the Constitution, Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and God’s Natural Law and is willing to grant to others the same Natural and civil rights as we assume for ourselves. Such a perspective is totally lost on both Donald Trump and Maxine Waters (and their ilk). And the result is a burgeoning civil war.

I’m telling you, any civil war taking shape in this country today is a net loss for freedom, no matter which side should prevail. I want no part of either side. In my mind, these two factions are equally evil.

No matter who would have won the election in 2016, the result would have been the same. Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were groomed to take America into a civil war. Make no mistake about it: The gamemakers who control both Trump and Clinton couldn’t care less about the left-right feud taking place on Main Street today. It is the Constitution, Bill of Rights and God’s Natural Law that are targeted for destruction. And neither Donald Trump nor Maxine Waters seem to have any regard, respect or reverence for any of those sacred principles.

Both gun owners and members of the black community have justifiable complaints. The Second Amendment has been in the crosshairs of would-be tyrants for years. And so has the Fourth Amendment in predominantly minority communities. The left is wrong to dismiss the attacks on the Second Amendment liberties of gun owners, and the right is wrong to dismiss the attacks on the Fourth Amendment liberties of blacks and other minorities. I’m telling you both sides have equal justification for complaint. “Right-wingers” are justified in complaining about the tyrannical tendencies of the FBI, ATF and BLM, and “left-wingers” are justified in complaining about the tyrannical tendencies of local police departments and sheriff’s offices.

Federal police agencies have been targeting “right-wing” groups for decades—without justification. This targeting has been done solely on the basis of political bias and propaganda from left-wing hate groups such as the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). In truth, the FBI and SPLC have been political bed partners for almost forever. And conservative ranchers, gun owners, business owners, etc., have every right in the world to be incensed about it.

By the same token, people within the black community have every right to be angry at the way they have been abused and misused by local police agencies and prosecutors’ offices. On this subject, I totally support the efforts of Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders to overhaul the bail system in America’s criminal justice system. Upwards of 70% of people behind bars are there without being convicted of a crime. They are mostly poor people (of which a majority are black) who cannot afford bail. And so they sit behind bars awaiting trial while the wealthy walk the streets free as a bird for the same or even more serious offenses. The only difference is one person has money and the other one doesn’t. That’s NOT justice. Don’t tell me we need bigger jails. All that does is feed the Police State and further tax the taxpayers. What we need is more justice in the justice system. The bail system is a dinosaur that needs to be fossilized.

So far this year, local police departments and sheriff’s offices have killed more than 700 people. And about 24% of these victims were not even armed. Furthermore, about 61% of these victims were minorities. One cannot read the news on any given day without reading the stories of policemen killing people (mostly minorities) under extremely questionable circumstances. And almost never are these murderous policemen held accountable or brought to justice for their crimes. Quite frankly, I am tired of hearing so-called patriots talk about the “murder” of Lavoy Finicum while completely ignoring the murders of dozens, if not scores, of young black men every year by policemen all over America. The double standard is sickening!

This country is coming apart at the seams. And both Donald Trump and Maxine Waters (and their toadies) are equally culpable. The dichotomy is ubiquitous. Except the fact that the one thing that both liberals and conservatives and Republicans and Democrats come together on is WAR. (Maxine Waters, to her credit, has consistently voted against America’s unconstitutional wars.)

Mark my words: Donald Trump is in the process of taking America into war against Iran and Syria in the same way that G.W. Bush took America into war against Iraq and Afghanistan. (Oh, that’s right. Dual U.S.-Israeli citizen John Bolton is at the helm spearheading these wars in Trump’s administration just as he was in Bush’s administration, isn’t he? What a coincidence!) And Israel will be the match that Trump and Bolton will use to ignite these wars (in other words, more wars for Israel). And when Trump launches these wars, the vast majority of both Republicans and Democrats in Congress will support them. Watch and see.

The American people are being played, and the Constitution is being pulverized—by both sides of this political charade. And the growing civil war in this country has nothing to do with the principles of liberty or constitutional government and everything to do with globalist warmongers manipulating the left-right paradigm to destroy whatever vestiges of America’s Washington and Jeffersonian principles that yet remain.

Chuck Baldwin: Trump’s SCOTUS Pick: More Of The Same

A Republican-dominated Supreme Court (SC) gave us Roe v Wade, homosexual marriage and Obamacare. In fact, Republican appointments have dominated the SC for the last 45 years. All of this talk about Republican presidents appointing pro-life, constitutionalist, originalist justices is just so much hot air.

Republican presidents have given us William Brennan, John Paul Stevens, Harry Blackmun (the man who authored Roe v Wade), Anthony Kennedy (the man who gave us homosexual marriage), and John Roberts (the man who gave us Obamacare). Trump’s appointment of Gorsuch (the man who made it illegal to deport illegal alien criminals) and now Kavanaugh are likewise in the mold of the above justices.

Kavanaugh is a favorite of the establishment. Judge Andrew Napolitano rightly called Kavanaugh a “swamp pick.” He said that Kavanaugh was the “heart and soul of the DC establishment.” He said that Kavanaugh is “a big government guy.” Napolitano also quoted Kavanaugh as repeatedly saying that “the President [ANY President] can do no wrong.”

Judicial Watch founder, attorney Larry Klayman, wrote this:

Judge Kavanaugh either has no respect for the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution, or he was unethically attempting to curry favor with the Republican establishment, exemplified by former President George W. Bush and his administration, which Kavanaugh had worked for as staff secretary in the White House Counsel’s office. President Bush and his Vice President Dick Cheney, not coincidentally, had also put in place this mass surveillance, using September 11 as the pretext.

Kavanaugh obviously understood that his aspirations to someday become a Supreme Court justice would depend on his close ties to this Republican Bush-Cheney establishment, who would someday, if the chance arose, push for his nomination. And, indeed this came to pass in the last weeks, after Kavanaugh’s mentor who he clerked for in his early career, Justice Anthony Kennedy, announced his retirement from the Supreme Court. The swamp creatures of this slimy Republican establishment . . . pushed The Donald to name Kavanaugh as the next SCOTUS justice

That ALONE should tell you all you need to know. But it’s actually worse than that. Kavanaugh, like Roberts, is a totally controlled toady of the Deep State.

Kavanaugh helped Ken Starr cover up the Deep State’s murder of former Bill Clinton legal counsel Vince Foster. To quote Joel Skousen:

The Vince Foster cover-up wasn’t a simple case of an erroneous conclusion based upon weak evidence. This was a full blown conspiracy to intimidate witnesses that proved the official version was a lie. As Starr’s deputy, there is no way that Kavanaugh could not have known that there was a cover-up and conspiracy going on.

Kavanaugh will always be subject to the blackmail of “you knew what Starr did to Patrick Knowlton [the key witness exposing the Deep State conspiracy that killed Foster], and you went along with it.” That also implies a more lethal threat of “you know what they did to Vince Foster when he got cold feet about protecting the Clintons.”

Trump’s appointment of Kavanaugh tells me that Donald Trump is completely controlled by the Deep State—all of his rhetoric to the contrary notwithstanding. As Skousen notes, Kavanaugh is neck-deep in the Vince Foster cover-up. Accordingly, there can be no doubt that Kavanaugh is owned by the Deep State. And Trump’s appointment of Kavanaugh means that Trump is owned by the Deep State. Always remember that being controlled by the Deep State does not mean that it controls every decision or every vote you make; it simply means that the Deep State has enough power and influence over you that when it needs you to submit to its wishes on a particular decision or vote (such as Judge Roberts’ Obamacare vote and Trump’s appointment of Deep State puppet Brett Kavanaugh), you WILL comply.

As to the life issue, pro-life organizations across the country are lauding Kavanaugh as staunchly pro-life. These endorsements don’t impress me at all. Most of the national “pro-life” (and “Christian”) organizations are unabashed sycophants of the Republican Party. Furthermore, they adamantly refuse to support the only pro-life bills that would actually STOP abortion: personhood bills such as the one repeatedly introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives by former congressman Ron Paul.

If passed, Ron Paul’s Sanctity of Life Act would have defined life as beginning at conception and under Article. III. Section. 2. of the U.S. Constitution removed abortion from the jurisdiction of the court, thereby overturning Roe. Yes, the pro-life Republicans in Congress—along with a pro-life Republican President—could overturn Roe v Wade anytime it wanted to. Saying they must wait for a Supreme Court decision overturning Roe is simply a way for cowardly congressmen and presidents to pass the buck and still claim to be “pro-life” at the same time.

The truth is, national “pro-life” groups can no more afford for Roe v Wade to be overturned than national help-us-find-a-cure-for-cancer groups can afford to find a cure for cancer. These groups make millions of dollars “fighting” abortion. If anything, these national “pro-life” groups want to make sure that Roe v Wade is NOT overturned so they can maintain their multimillion-dollar enterprises, while at the same time convincing their gullible donors that they are truly trying to rid the country of legalized abortion. P.T. Barnum could not have cooked up a better scam.

That Kavanaugh has ruled in favor of certain restrictions on abortion “rights” is no indicator that he would do anything to reverse Roe v Wade. In fact, Kavanaugh is on record as saying he respected the government’s “precedent” (Roe v Wade decision) on abortion. Pro-life organizations are using the Garza case to prove Kavanaugh’s commitment to the right to life, but they are conveniently overlooking the fact that in this decision Kavanaugh said the government conceded the teen’s right to an abortion but simply stated that delaying the abortion “did not pose an undue burden on that right.”

For 45 years, wishy-washy Republicans have bragged about being “pro-life” and have voted for all kinds of compromised “pro-life” bills that have done absolutely NOTHING to overturn Roe v Wade and stop the slaughter of over 60 million unborn babies. Kavanaugh was a clerk for Anthony Kennedy and rose to power in the rabid neocon administration of G.W. Bush. His pro-life credentials are mired in compromise.

Kavanaugh is also being heralded by gun groups for supporting the pro-Second Amendment Heller decision. But Kavanaugh himself said that the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms could be regulated and restricted by State and Federal law as long as these regulations and restrictions did not take away the right (the Second Amendment) completely. That’s hardly a strong pro-Second Amendment position.

Yes, radical leftists will vehemently protest Kavanaugh’s appointment. (It is the right that should be protesting, and a few will. Senators Rand Paul and Tom Cotton have already expressed reservations.) But the cacophony of protests from the left means NOTHING. The Deep State doesn’t care about the protestations (or the agendas) of the left or the right. All it cares about is putting people in power that they can control—and Kavanaugh fits that job description perfectly.

Like I said, Trump’s appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court is just more of the same.

P.S. I highly commend Donald Trump for issuing presidential pardons to Oregon ranchers Dwight and Steven Hammond. This might be the best decision of Trump’s presidency to date—a whole lot better than his SCOTUS pick. Trump’s clemency of the Hammonds overturns an egregious injustice committed against the father-son ranchers by corrupt federal agencies. Throughout their whole ordeal, the Hammonds conducted themselves with dignity and grace. Such cannot be said for the agents of the federal government who behaved more like mafia gangsters than protectors of law and order. This presidential pardon was long overdue.

Tom DeWeese: Will Brett Kavanaugh Stand for Property Rights?

There’s lots of talk about where Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh stands on the Roe v Wade abortion decision and if he would vote to rescind it. There is another very controversial Supreme Court decision made just few years ago, supported by the Anthony Kennedy, the justice he seeks to replace. That is the Kelo decision that basically obliterated private property rights in America. So, where does Brett Kananaugh stand on protection of private property rights? With Kennedy or the Constitution?

In 2005, the Supreme Court of the United States handed down an opinion that shocked the nation. It was the case of Susette Kelo, et al. v City of New London, Connecticut, et al. The issue: “Does the government taking of property from one private owner to give to another private entity for economic development constitutes a permissible ‘public use’ under the Fifth Amendment?”

In 2000, the city of New London saw a chance to rake in big bucks through tax revenues for a new downtown development project that was to be anchored by pharmaceutical giant Pfizer. The company announced a plan to build a $270 million dollar global research facility in the city. The local government jumped at the chance to transform 90 acres of an area right next to the proposed research facility. Their plans called for the creation of the Fort Trumbull development project which would provide hotels, housing and shopping areas for the expected influx of Pfizer employees. There were going to be jobs and revenues A-Go-Go in New London. Just one obstacle stood in the way of these grand plans. There were private homes in that space.

No muss – no fuss. The city fathers had a valuable tool in their favor. They would just issue an edict that they were taking the land by eminent domain. The city created a private development corporation to lead the project. First priority for the new corporation was to obtain the needed property.

In July, 1997, Susette Kelo bought a nice little pink house in a quiet fort Trumbull neighborhood of New London. Little did she imagine that warm, comfy place would soon become the center of a firestorm.

She had no intention of selling. She’d spent a considerable amount of money and time fixing up her little pink house, a home with a beautiful view of the waterfront that she could afford. She planted flowers in the yard, braided her own rugs for the floors, filled the rooms with antiques and created the home she wanted.

Less than a year later, the trouble started. A real estate broker suddenly showed up at her door representing an unknown client. Susette said she wasn’t interested in selling. The realtor’s demeanor then changed, warning that the property was going to be condemned by the city. One year later, on the day before Thanksgiving, the sheriff taped a letter to Kelo’s door, stating that her home had been condemned by the City of New London.

Then the pressure began. A notice came in the mail telling her that the city intended to take her land. An offer of compensation was made, but it was below the market price. The explanation given was that, since the government was going to take the land, it was no longer worth the old market price, therefore the lower price was “just compensation,” as called for in the Fifth Amendment. It was a “fair price,” Kelo and the homeowners were told over and over.

Some neighbors quickly gave up, took the money and moved away. With the loss of each one, the pressure mounted. Visits from government agents became routine. They knocked on the door at all hours, demanding she sell. Newspaper articles depicted her as unreasonably holding up community progress. They called her greedy. Finally, the bulldozers moved in on the properties already sold. As they crushed down the houses, the neighborhood became unlivable. It looked like a war zone.

In Susette Kelo’s neighborhood, the imposing bulldozer was sadistically parked in front of a house, waiting. The homeowner came under greater pressure to sell. More phone calls, threatening letters, visits by city officials at all hours demanding they sign the contract to sell. It just didn’t stop. Finally the intimidation began to break down the most dedicated homeowners’ resolve. In tears, they gave in and sold. Amazingly, once they sold, the homeowners were then classified as “willing sellers!”

Immediately, as each house was bulldozed, the monster machine was moved to the next house, sitting there like a huffing, puffing dragon, ready to strike.

Finally Susette’s little pink house stood nearly alone in the middle of a destruction site. Over 80 homes were gone: seven remained. As if under attack by a conquering army, she was finally surrounded, with no place to run but to the courts. Under any circumstances the actions of the New London government and its sham development corporation should have been considered criminal behavior. It used to be. If city officials were caught padding their own pockets, or those of their friends, it was considered graft. That’s why RICO laws were created.

The United States was built on the very premise of the protection of private property rights. How could a government possibly be allowed to take anyone’s home for private gain? Surely justice would finally prevail.

The city was backed in its appeal by the National League of Cities, one of the largest proponents of eminent domain use, saying the policy was critical to spurring urban renewal with development projects. However, the Supreme Court had always stood with the founders of the nation on the vital importance of private property. There was precedent after precedent to back up the optimism that they would do so again.

Finally, her case was heard by the highest court in the land. It was such an obvious case of government overreach against private property owners that no one considered there was a chance of New London winning. That’s why it was a shock to nearly everyone involved that private property rights sustained a near-death blow that day.

This time, five black robes named Stevens, Souter, Ginsburg, Kennedy, and Breyer shocked the nation by ruling that officials who had behaved like Tony Soprano were in the right and Susette Kelo had no ground to stand on, literally or figuratively.

These four men and one woman ruled that the United States Constitution is meaningless as a tool to protect individuals against the wants and desires of government. Their ruling in the Kelo case declared that Americans own nothing. After deciding that any property is subject to the whim of a government official, it was just a short trip to declaring that government could now confiscate anything we own, anything we create, anything we’ve worked for – in the name of an undefined common good.

Justice Sandra Day O’Conner, who opposed the Court’s decision, vigorously rebutted the Majority’s argument, as she wrote in dissent of the majority opinion, “The specter of condemnation hangs over all property. Nothing is to prevent the state from replacing a Motel 6 with a Ritz-Carlton, any home with a shopping mall, or any farm with a factory.”

Justice Clarence Thomas issued his own rebuttal to the decision, specifically attacking the argument that this was a case about “public use.” He accused the Majority of replacing the Fifth Amendment’s “Public Use” clause with a very different “Public Purpose” test. Said Justice Thomas “This deferential shift in phraseology enables the Court to hold against all common sense, that a costly urban-renewal project whose stated purpose is a vague promise of new jobs and increased tax revenue, but which is also suspiciously agreeable to the Pfizer Corporation, is for a public use.”

Astonishingly the members of the Supreme Court have no other job but to protect the Constitution and defend it from bad legislation. They sit in their lofty ivory tower, with their lifetime appointments, never actually having to worry about job security or the need to answer to political pressure. Yet, these five black robes obviously missed finding a single copy of the Federalist Papers, which were written by many of the Founders to explain to the American people how they envisioned the new government was to work. In addition, they apparently missed the collected writings of James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and George Washington, just to mention a very few. It’s obvious because otherwise, there is simply no way they could have reached this decision.

So, in a five to four vote, the Supreme Court said that it was okay for a community to use eminent domain to take land, shut down a business, or destroy and reorganize an entire neighborhood, if it benefited the community in a positive way. Specifically, “positive” meant unquestioned government control and more tax dollars.

The Institute for Justice, the group that defended Susette Kelo before the Supreme Court, reported that it found 10,000 cases in which condemnation was used or threatened for the benefit of private developers. These cases were all within a five-year period after the Kelo decision. Today, that figure is dwarfed as there is seemingly no limit on government takings of private property.

The Kelo decision changed the rules. The precedent was set. Land can now be taken anytime at the whim of a power elite. So again, the question must be asked: if Brett Kavanaugh is confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court, will he stand to protect private property rights against massive overreach by local, state, and federal governments? Will he support an effort to overturn the Kelo Decision?

Guns Save Over Two Million Lives In America Every Year

Back in the fall of 1995, Florida State University criminologist Professor Gary Kleck published what is probably still to date the most comprehensive study ever conducted in the use of defensive arms by American citizens. His findings concluded that the American people use a gun to defend themselves and others over two million times a year. You read it right: over two million times a year.

Now, Professor Kleck reports that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has confirmed his statistics. Why haven’t you heard about it? Because the anti-Second Amendment CDC and their anti-Second Amendment cohorts in the mainstream media have hidden the report.

Daniel Zimmerman writes:

In the 1990s, the CDC itself did look into one of the more controversial questions in gun social science: How often do innocent Americans use guns in self-defense, and how does that compare to the harms guns can cause in the hands of violent criminals?

Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck conducted the most thorough previously known survey data on the question in the 1990s. His study, which has been harshly disputed in pro-gun-control quarters, indicated that there were more than 2.2 million such defensive uses of guns (DGUs) in America a year.

Now Kleck has unearthed some lost CDC survey data on the question. The CDC essentially confirmed Kleck’s results. But Kleck didn’t know about that until now, because the CDC never reported what it found.

The report goes on:

The CDC dug into the question of how often Americans defend themselves using firearms. And they did an impressive job of it, in Kleck’s opinion. The only problem with their findings was that they confirmed Kleck’s results.

Why is that a bad thing? Because based on his research, Kleck found that the number of defensive gun uses in the US was somewhere between 2.1 and 2.5 million per year, a huge multiple over the number of crimes involving firearms. Not the lower (though still significant number of 500,000) total that the CDC had claimed.

For those who wonder exactly how purely scientific CDC researchers are likely to be about issues of gun violence that implicate policy, Kleck notes that “CDC never reported the results of those surveys, does not report on their website any estimates of DGU (Defensive Gun Use) frequency, and does not even acknowledge that they ever asked about the topic in any of their surveys.”

Gee, why would they bury important results like that? It’s almost as if the white coats at the CDC would rather not publicize any findings that would cast a bad light on the argument for more control and restrictions of civilian-owned firearms.

CDC Study Confirmed Kleck’s 2.5 Million Defensive Gun Use Statistic…So They Hid The Data

Are you grasping this, my friends? American citizens use a gun in self-defense some 2.5 million times every year. That is over 6,800 times EVERY DAY. This absolutely dwarfs the numbers of Americans who are killed with guns.

FBI statistics report that 9,400 people are murdered with a gun each year in this country and 4,000 are murdered with instruments other than a gun. These are four-year averages from the most recent data (2013 – 2016).

So, for every one homicide committed in the United States with a gun, at least 266 lives are SAVED with a gun. And that statistic is actually very conservative, as there is no way of knowing exactly how many lives are truly saved each time a gun is used in self-defense. A large percentage of those DGU’s obviously involved multiple potential victims—i.e., family members, friends, neighbors, fellow retail customers, etc.—so the actual number of potential lives saved with a gun each year could realistically total well in excess of ten million.

Think of it: Up to ten million (or more) men, women, teenagers, children, babies, elderly people, disabled people, mothers, daughters, sisters, brothers, sons, fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, husbands, wives, cousins, friends, neighbors, and fellow townsmen are potentially SAVED each year by the presence of a defensive firearm. And in a large percentage of the time, the mere presence of a gun averted a crime—the gun was not even fired.

I can personally attest to at least three occasions when the presence of a defensive firearm thwarted a crime against my family members. In each of these occasions, the gun was never fired; the mere sight of the gun was enough to scare the would-be assailants away. Who knows how violent those crimes would have been had they been fully carried out? How many of my family members would have been seriously injured or killed had not a defensive firearm been present? Thankfully, we will never know.

Businesses that prohibit customers from being armed in their establishments risk the lives of their employees and customers daily. The shooting at a Nashville Waffle House is just the latest example of this gun-free business establishment being victimized by a criminal with a gun—this one was a criminal who was already prohibited by law from having a gun, by the way. Yet Waffle House continues to insist that its restaurants be gun-free.

Of course, the Nashville Waffle House was not the first Waffle House to be the site of a criminal attack. The around-the-clock Waffle Houses are routinely and frequently the targets of violent crime.

A recent sample of Waffle House attacks include Lawrence, Indiana (robbed four times in three months); New Albany, Indiana; Charlotte, North Carolina; Camden, Delaware; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Hermitage, Tennessee; North Little Rock, Arkansas; Biloxi, Mississippi; Orlando, Florida; Raleigh, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Columbia, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee; Houston, Texas; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Panama City Beach, Florida; Georgetown, South Carolina; Fort Myers, Florida; etc. The list is endless.

In the Fort Myers Waffle House shooting, four men violently attacked a single patron in the restaurant who had the good sense to be carrying a concealed handgun in spite of Waffle House rules and shot one of his attackers in self-defense. All the attackers fled the scene, and the criminal who was shot died before his partners in crime could get him to a hospital.

Yet Waffle House management is so fanatically anti-Second Amendment, not only does it prohibit its patrons from being armed in its restaurants (good luck with that in Montana) but also its employees and SECURITY GUARDS. Truly, the corporate executives at Waffle House are a bunch of imbeciles—and so is anyone who would frequent a Waffle House restaurant (or any other restaurant) WITHOUT being armed.

Then, of course, the big news this week was how the driver of a van in Toronto, Canada, killed ten people and injured fifteen others by deliberately running them over with his van. Will we hear any calls from the media for bans on “assault” vans? This is not the first time this kind of mass killing has taken place (London, England; Barcelona, Spain; and Muenster, Germany; for example). So, where is the call for “van control”?

You and I both know that the gun control Nazis are not interested in public safety. If they were, they would be insisting that gun-free zones be eliminated and that as many people as possible be always armed and prepared to use those arms in the defense of themselves and others. The facts confirm Professor Kleck’s research that GUNS SAVE LIVES.

The issue is NOT public safety; it is not even gun control. The issue is people control or the complete and total control of people by government. A disarmed citizenry is totally helpless not only against the attacks from individual criminals but more importantly against the attacks from tyrannical government.

Totalitarian governments have murdered more people than all of the John Dillingers, Al Capones, Bonnie and Clydes, Stephen Paddocks, Adam Lanzas, and Eric Harris and Dylan Klebolds of the world combined.

R.J. Rummell’s exhaustive research in Death By Government chronicles the fact that over 262 million people were murdered by despotic governments around the world during the 20th century alone. And the one single common denominator in all of these government mass murders is that the people were disarmed before they were slaughtered.

America’s Founding Fathers put the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights specifically for the purpose of the American people reserving their right and duty to cast off oppressive government by ALWAYS vigilantly maintaining their right and duty to keep and bear arms—including and especially the AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle.

And as Professor Kleck has shown (and which has now been grudgingly confirmed by the CDC), the presence of a gun potentially saves the lives of at least 2.5 million people every year in this country.

Your personal defense gun: Don’t leave home without it.

You will note the original link doesn’t work right now. It was pointed out to me by Robert VerBruggen of National Review that Kleck treats the CDC’s surveys discussed in this paper as if they were national in scope, as Kleck’s original survey was, but they apparently were not. From VerBruggen’s own looks at CDC’s raw data, it seems that over the course of the three years, the following 15 states were surveyed: Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Montana, Ohio, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. (Those states, from 2000 census data, contained around 27 percent of the U.S. population.) Informed of this, Kleck says he will recalculate the degree to which CDC’s survey work indeed matches or corroborates his, and we will publish a discussion of those fresh results when they come in. But for now Kleck has pulled the original paper from the web pending his rethinking the data and his conclusions.

But, I am confident that the move by the CDC to stop their research after 15 states only serves to confirm Professor Kleck’s data all the more. The CDC is a rabid anti-Second Amendment government bureaucracy, and the fact that their research matches Kleck’s in the 15 states that they surveyed is doubtless why they suspended their research. They KNEW their results would match Professor Kleck’s data across the board. Professor Kleck’s original data from 1995 has never been scientifically challenged, because the research is irrefutable.

Putting Mass School Shootings Into Perspective

When a shocking tragedy like the recent Parkland, Florida mass school shooting takes place, the media keeps it in the headlines for days. Television inundates our senses with sights and sounds that reinforce the human emotion of the calamity while the drama is relived in front of our eyes day and night. The media milks an event like this for all the ratings it’s worth, keeping it in the news-cycle for up to a week, or at least until the next natural disaster or political scandal comes along.

Our senses can easily become overwhelmed by the relentless rehearsing of the story and its horrific details, all presented in a manner calculated to elicit an emotional response rather than rational thought. If we’re not alert, and diligent to exercise critical thinking, we can quickly lose perspective and join Chicken Little in believing that the sky really is falling, that mass shootings are sweeping the land, and that if the government doesn’t do something quick, “we’ll all die!”

Mass public shootings (properly called “mass murder,” unless you’re trying to sensationalize a particular aspect of the incident) are indeed a terrible thing that we should be working to prevent. But how much of the American landscape does the phenomenon of mass shootings really take up as opposed to the amount of news headlines it’s given?

Before we start passing new laws, giving up our rights, or consent to being strip searched at every checkpoint, perhaps we should put the matter into perspective and ask exactly how many children are actually being killed by mass shootings as compared to the various other threats to their lives. We want to stop all evil and protect every child, but it would be wise to know where to focus our attention and direct our efforts so as to have the greatest effect and save the most lives.

Actual Risk of Death Due to Mass Shootings

According to a report by the Congressional Research Service, about 20 people per year were being killed in mass public shootings in the early 2000s, a number that rose to an average of 37 per year in the period of 2009-2013. Since that report, my research indicates that we’ve averaged 60 deaths per year over the past four years. This is for all mass public shootings, which includes workplace, school, restaurant and other public places. A listing of each mass shooting from 1982 to 2018 reveals that 14 percent of those shootings took place at schools (including colleges), giving us an expected annual average of fewer than 10 deaths per year coming from school campuses.

To put these numbers into perspective, in a country of 327 million people, 60 killed per year in all mass public shootings is 1 per 5.5 million. To look at it another way, that’s one person killed per year from among the entire population of Minnesota, or about the same as are killed by lightning each year (51).

While every life matters, so does the truth, and the truth is that the excessive amount of media attention given to mass shootings is creating a very skewed perspective as to the role that they actually play in our society.

The sensationalizing of mass shootings has created a public perception of our country being awash in an ever-rising tide of murder and mayhem reigning in our streets and on school campuses. However, the truth is actually just the opposite. Homicide rates in the U.S. have decreased dramatically over the last couple decades, from over 9 per 100,000 in the early 1990s to only 4.5 in 2014.

At the same time, the number of guns in America increased from 242 million in 1996 to 357 million in 2013. The number of new guns being introduced into the population nearly quadrupled during the same period, from 4.4 million per year to 16 million. While guns may be a preferred weapon of mass murders, the sheer number of guns present in our society obviously is not driving the homicide rate as the two statistics are moving in opposite directions.

Mass Shootings Compared to Other Threats to Children

Though I was not able to find a single definitive document directly comparing the rate of mass school shooting deaths to other leading causes of death among school-age children, I did manage to find the following facts that help provide context for this discussion.

Auto Accidents – The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that over a 10 year period more than 9,000 children ages 12 and younger were killed in car crashes. If we factor in teens and college students, most of which are beginning to drive and have higher accident rates, I expect the number could reach as high as 20,000, or an average of 2,000 per year, as compared to an average of 10 per year killed in mass school shootings. Again, every life is precious, but as opposed to panicking with fear over mass school shootings, it would make 200 times more sense (mathematically speaking that is), to fear putting the kids in the car for a drive to Walmart, or to school for that matter.

Suicide – Suicide is the second leading cause of death in the 15 to 24 year old age group, coming in at over 5,000 per year. That’s 500 times more deaths by suicide than by mass school shootings. Some of the leading causes of teen suicide are listed as, “being bullied, social rejection, relationship breakup, academic failure in school and grade retention.” Bullying generally takes place at school and most social activity and relationships also tend to be related to school activities for this age group. Academic issues of retaining grades is directly a school matter. I expect that as many as a thousand of the 5,000 annual teen suicides could be to some degree school related. As compared to the number of students killed in mass shootings each year (average of 10), teen suicides arising from school-related issues alone is an outright holocaust taking as many as a hundred times more lives.

Drug Overdose – In 2015 there were 772 drug overdose deaths among teens ages 15 to 19. That’s 77 times more killed in this very small age group, spanning only five years, than are killed in all mass school shootings. While not all drug use is the product of school attendance, school is certainly a leading place where children become exposed to drugs, discover connections for obtaining drugs, and sometimes experience peer pressure to try drugs. One addiction treatment center states that “nearly 44% of high school students know a classmate who sells drugs.” If death by mass shootings in schools is “a problem,” then, by comparison, death by drug overdose among students is “an epidemic.”

Gang Violence – The National Gang Center shows gang-related homicides at 2,363 in 2012 as compared to an average of only 60 annual deaths for all mass public shootings. Though school-age children would only account for a portion of those deaths, yet the teenage years are where gang involvement tends to begin. Seattlepi.com reports that, according to a CDC study, “45 percent of high school students have gangs or gang members on their campuses,” a number that drops to 2 percent for private schools, though it is thought that increased parental involvement plays a part in that. Though public schools certainly are not making themselves a target of gang violence on purpose, it seems obvious that the threat to the lives of children arising from gang-related activity on school campuses far surpasses that of mass shootings by many magnitudes.

Sports Injuries – According to Youth Sports Safety Alliance statistics, 1.3 million children were admitted to emergency rooms with sports-related injuries in 2012. From 2008 through 2013, an average of 45 children per year died of sports-related injuries. Even sports programs, most of which presumably originate on school campuses, appear to be killing more than four times as many kids as mass school shootings.

Sexually Transmitted Disease – 6,721 Americans died of HIV/AIDS in 2014. As of 2015, youth ages 13 to 24 accounted for more than 1 in 5 new HIV diagnoses. An estimated 44 percent of those living with the disease are believed to be unaware. By extrapolation, we can expect to lose 200 per year to this disease from among this age group as future annual deaths – and this is only one of the potentially fatal STDs. Sexual promiscuity, much of it originating on high school and college campuses, is killing at least 20 times more of our youth than mass shootings. Yet I don’t hear the same cries to ban sexual promiscuity that I do to ban guns, but that’s a matter of hypocrisy that will have to be addressed another time.

Transit to and From School – A reported 815 students die each year, and 152,250 are injured, during travel to and from school. Those numbers do not include extracurricular activities like traveling to sporting events or marching band competitions, which would likely put the total over a thousand. This is an amazingly small number of deaths considering the total number of children transported to and from schools every day. Nevertheless, transporting kids to and from school, and school-related activities, is killing a hundred times more children each year than are mass shootings. Yet no one is clamoring to “ban the buses” as that would clearly be irrational.

Now that we have some context for the subject, we can easily see that mass school shootings are among the least of the threats that children face. Nevertheless, we certainly want to take whatever appropriate actions we can to protect children from the rare, and rather unpredictable, mentally deranged and demonically tortured individuals who are driven to commit mass murder.

However, if saving lives is really the main focus, then there are much greater opportunities in areas like suicide, drug abuse, gang violence, and the spread of sexually transmitted disease. These deaths are much more preventable than are those caused by the extremely infrequent mass murder perpetrated by a random psychopath, and these activities are killing hundreds, or possibly even thousands of times more children.

Nevertheless, mass school shootings, like all threats to children, ought to be addressed.

Currently, the public is looking almost exclusively to the federal government to address the problem of school shootings. However, the federal government has no jurisdictional authority in this area. The U.S. Constitution does not grant the federal government any power over schools or education and it prohibits the federal government from interfering with gun ownership. Therefore, any actions taken by the federal government on these topics are without the force of law, or as the American Founders put it in the Declaration of Independence, they are “pretended legislation.” To be lawful, any actions taken to address schools, school shootings, guns, or school violence in general, must come from the states and/or communities.

Frankly, in light of the above listing of the ways children are being killed, the numbers of children being killed by each, and the degree to which each is associated with schools and school-related activities, I find myself questioning whether it might just be the government schools themselves that are the greatest danger to children.

It is with great sadness that I announce that Will Grigg, principle writer at Liberty News Daily has died suddenly, from complications of a severe infection. I quoted often from Will’s news summaries in World Affairs Brief.

There was probably no greater wordsmith in the conservative/libertarian movement than William Norman Grigg, nor a man with more passion for liberty. He has written for the New American and various Libertarian publications. His personal website, Pro Liberate, went to great efforts to expose police and government corruption, especially when improperly covered up by law enforcement, the media and the courts.

An Open Letter to Talk Show Hosts, News Makers and All Media Personnel

 
I have become more and more alarmed as we watch increasing, divisive, never ending battles and downright hostile attacks that seem to permeate every segment of our society. Men against women, black against white, rich against poor, liberal against conservative, gay against straight and even believer against the unbeliever. It’s truly crazy! Even those who claim to be on the same side find something to feud about. Sadly, America has become a house divided; surely she cannot stand if we allow the current negative trend to go unchecked. There must be a better way.

When we think about it, we agree on much more than we disagree. If that’s true, then why is it that we spend so much time and energy on our disagreements? Thus it is vital to downplay or minimize our disagreements, while spending the bulk of our time focusing on that which is productive and on which we can agree. In short, building common ground, coming together and advocating for productive solutions should be the order of the day.

Further, we should agree that there is a difference between free speech and attacks that cross the line, limited by laws surrounding defamation, libel, and slander. Protection of first amendment rights and respect for one another is a prerequisite to restoring trust in America today.

Might I suggest what we lack most in our so called “enlightened day” is open, kind and moral leadership. What we need is good, honest and wise statesman. We need Americans who are governed by moral principle in thought and deed in private as well as their public lives. We need leaders who will lead by example and show us a better way.

We should always be willing to follow the Prince of Peace and stand for that which is right. We should be willing to talk and work with everyone in an effort to unify all people to make America great again. I for one will try harder, will accept constructive criticism from others, and will commit to do better.

In the spirit of eternal optimism, we exhort all Americans to demonstrate true leadership by returning to the high moral standard of civility in all we do and say. Indeed we need to treat others as we ourselves would like to be treated.

We look forward to working together to show the American people a better way as we “make America great again”. Even though we may disagree on some issues, we can still have open dialog and respect for one another’s beliefs.  As Hall wrote in The Friends of Voltaire, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”.  After all, isn’t this the pure genius of America?

The Transgender Lie in Government Education

This is Not Justice and This Is Not Education!

On Friday, May 14th, a joint letter from the Department of Education and the Department of Justice was sent to the nation’s public schools with guidelines regarding transgender students.  The Obama Administration pretends these guidelines were designed to ensure that, “transgender students enjoy a supportive and nondiscriminatory school environment.”

Darrell Castle, Constitution Party Presidential Candidate, is right when He says “We Must Show President Obama That He Is Not a Dictator.” The 1.25 Million plus Americans who have signed the Boycott Target Pledge, hosted by the American Family Association, should be commended for their stand as well. This politically driven agenda is not education and violates time honored moral codes of conduct.

I condemn this order and further state that it is illegal and unconstitutional. The states and school districts are under NO obligation to obey. I further urge them to completely reject and ignore this pretend Law. Many states, speaking through their elected officials, have vowed defiance and their courageous stand should be encouraged. This President may consider himself an absolute dictator but it is our duty to show him that he is not.

Let’s hope that people will finally realize that the system doesn’t have to continue to disintegrate and divide. When Obama threatens to withhold federal funding over non-compliance, it becomes an unconstitutional, federal, de facto bribe. All 50 states should reject the filthy lucre. The American people must demand a firm stand on principle, defined in Supreme Law, aka Our Constitution. Public officials have taken an oath and have an obligation to use the checks and balances our founding fathers gave their lives for to protect liberty.

We call on all Elected Officials, especially County Sheriffs who have sworn an oath before God to stand against this propaganda scheme, to join Oklahoma lawmakers who are urging Congress for Obama’s impeachment over transgender bathrooms.

He has gone too far this time. Please claim the moral high ground and reject this tyrannical action once and for all.

Further, I am convinced their valiant leadership in the sacred cause of liberty, demonstration of complete fidelity in their personal and public lives, along with a true fundamental understanding of American principles, make them uniquely qualified for my endorsement as the next leaders of the free world.

I personally encourage all Americans to come together and join them in “A Valiant Stand” to make America free again. After all, the issue is honesty.

It’s about the company you keep. It’s about moral leadership. The status quo has got to go.

An Open Letter to Mr. Donald Trump

 
Dear Mr. Trump,

I am concerned about the fantastic interview we had with your son, Donald Jr. on my radio show, Liberty RoundTable Live, on March 1, 2016 – Super Tuesday. The reason I am troubled relates to the series of events that have taken place after our interview.

The lame stream “press-titutes” have misrepresented the facts, and in many cases, have outright lied about Donald Jr., myself, and James Edwards. The intentional insertion of these misrepresentations by the bogus press into your campaign is even more reprehensible and wrong!

We believe this constitutes an intentional assault on the free speech rights of all Americans.

A few years ago, James Edwards appeared multiple times on CNN as a political contributor/commentator. CNN clearly knew who James was and still allowed Mr. Edwards to speak for himself regarding his personal views, to which he’s entitled. In fact, it was because of his willingness to tackle controversial topics that they sought his opinion. During each of his appearances CNN always accurately introduced Mr. Edwards as a “conservative” talk radio host rather than the slurs we read today.

Now the media wants to indoctrinate the American people to falsely believe that if the Trump Campaign – and specifically Donald Trump Jr. – doesn’t directly disavow James Edwards and Sam Bushman, then somehow the Trump Campaign is evil and endorses a so-called “white supremacist” view. This falsehood highlights the problem with their dishonest reporting and (lack of facts) agenda.

We should agree that there is a difference between free speech and attacks that cross the line, limited by laws surrounding defamation, libel, and slander.   We further believe this right applies to all Americans and that neither the media nor government should be allowed a platform to abuse the citizens they are supposed to serve. Protection of first amendment rights and respect for all is a prerequisite to restoring trust between citizens and those who serve them. We declare that silence on this critical matter has become a de facto endorsement of free speech violations under the guise of political correctness. We intend to use our rights in the form of nationally syndicated talk radio shows, YouTube and web articles to document this moral crisis, expose corruption and the egregious personal attacks articulated above.
